šŸˆ Recruit says Saban said that Ingram will leave

Word was that he would stay. Can't blame him and he did more than what was asked off him. Roll Tide, Mark!

Somewhat unbelievably, the semi-official confirmation that Ingram is leaving the Tide comes from none other than the son of a collegiate and NFL legend.

Speaking to the fine folks at OKBlitz.com, Barry Sanders Jr. — yes, that Barry Sanders — said that he spoke to Alabama head coach Nick Saban earlier Wednesday. Saban, the heavily-recruited high school running back said, told him that Ingram is indeed leaving the Tide for early entry into the NFL draft.

ā€œHe just said ā€˜We need running backs,ā€™ā€ the junior said. ā€œHow Trent [Richardson] would be a senior if I were to go [to Alabama]. He told me Ingram’s leaving, he’s making it public probably Friday.ā€

I've heard it is iffy on Julio. Last I heard Barron actually said he was staying, so he would have had to have had a change of heart recently. Ingram iis long gone. Trent can get the job done without him.

Here is an article from Bleacher report on all of the possible jumps by Alabama players (And how they may follow Rolando McClain's example)

According to this, Donta is gone too, and Maze might go if Julio doesnt.

There's a handful of our players down in Mobile right now...mostly to hang out for the godaddy.com bowl. Word from that group is something crazy is going to have to happen in the next ten days for Julio to stay. Personally, I think he needs to make the jump. HOWEVER, the thing with JJ is directly related to AJ Green. There's a bit of a "pissing contest" going on there.

I've heard nothing that indicates DH is jumping. Dareus is projected in the top 15...he needs to jump and will. The Williams commitment should have told everyone that, IMO.

Aww...of all our guys I was hoping Julio would stay more than the others. Oh well, you're probably right when you say he probably should make the jump. I know it'll sure be fun watching him perform in an NFL system.

Can I infer that you think Williams will see some DE time as well as NT?

I have thought all along that Dareus, Ingram, and Jones were locks to leave for the NFL. I spoke with Dareus' old high school coach after the 09 season and he said that IF he had a decent year that he would be gone. I think that he did have a decent year even though he was out due to suspension and limited by some injuries. I think it is the greedy nature of fans that wants Julio and Mark to both return. Good luck to all of those that decide to move on!!

I know that Mark is ready to be a running back at the next level, and I believe Dareus and Jones are both NFL talent players that just need a little fine tuning.

I would also say that Trent Richardson, if he COULD declare, would be another fantastic NFL back. He's tough, runs hard, and rarely is tackled by one man. Heck, he usually just drags that guy along with him until #2 and 3 show up to bring him down.

Anyone else, I mean ANYONE ELSE thinking of declaring early needs to get real. They might make a little coin early, but they are going to be out of the NFL pretty quickly, and need that degree in the future. Stay, get the education, increase your draft stock, go after the 4th year. I'm talking to Hightower, Maze, and most definitely MARK BARRON. As fine a player as he is, he needs another year, and he will be GOLD.

True about Maze! He isn't going to grow 5-6" over next season. I recall another former BAMA player that was short on stature but had a decent career in the NFL! Anyone remember THE DUECE????
