Just my opinion, but here are the reasons why this was the perfect game!

1. WE have unleashed the BEAST! We knew he could run, but now we know much more about what we can do with the wild cat!

2. The players don't need to go into the next game cocky.

3. There were more weaknesses uncovered for us to fix this week.

What say you?

4) We escape another "off" game with a win that was never in serious doubt.

5) 4 turnovers with only 6 points on the scoreboard.

6) What we worried about a few weeks ago, the running game, won the game for us.

7-0 Roll Tide!:a:

The problem I have is we've seen each week what are weakness is and each week I hardly see any improvement (speaking more so on ST here than anything).

And then there is our passing game, or lack there of....

I don't know about the rest of yall but we can't simply rely on Ingram every game from here on out. We really could use an off week to let the team regroup and get some much needed rest. With UT coming in next week I fear the worst but hope somehow, some way, we can regroup and re-establish our identity as a balanced offensive attack. UT will of had 2 weeks to prepare for us when they come into Ttown. They will be fresh.

At any rate, RTR. I'll take a W any way we can get it.

Saban is so lighting into the team after this. Glad they gutted it out, especially Ingram. Im thinking that they need that bye week.

Next week is a rivalry, so the team can play on andrenaline, and then the bye week to regoup, several of our widerecievers and McElroy seem to need that.

Yep....100% agree. The lack of a passing game is not good and we have know about it for some time and it continues to get worse instead of better...which makes it even more alarming.

Greg hasn't looked good the last two games. Coach Saban just said he was a little confused out there. Imagine what looks Monte Kiffen will-0 give him next week. UT is coming in on a high note after the UGA game. And from listening to Coach Saban the players weren't too jacked up in practice and penalities better get cleaned up esp. on the kicking game or else we will not be 8-0!

IMHO, the problem is the the O-line pass protection AND the penalties. Plain & simple.

The O-line pass rush has been getting whipped these past 2 games & they are making bone-head execution problems (crappy snap anyone?).

The penalties escalate when you're getting beat. Pass protection or kick return coverage is getting BEAT. Not much else to say than that.

Side note-->
this is the first game that Coach McElwain called a suspect game. The hot hand was Ingram, I could see it miles away, & yet we get fancy or we go to plays where we are getting whipped. He (or somebody) finally figured it out on that last drive.

Rant over. ROLL TIDE ROLL we are 7-0.

-if I could be a fly on the wall in that locker room, ooooweeee!!!--> CNS is going to open a can of whooop-Ass!

:sealed_1blue:Well, is it just me or have you guy noticed we are not running the same variety of plays as we did the first few games. I know that McElroy was given the first game or two to settle in playing college ball but, I remember Upchurch and Grant getting some time. Also, we had a little success with JJones sliding behind the line for a handoff.

Maybe it's because the opponents are getting a little more penetration. I dunno.

Hard to open up the playbook on a team when we're struggling with fundamentally sound football on the basics.

As mentioned the Oline, especially in pass protection, is not doing their job quite well. I know they are young and nowhere near what last years Oline was....but they seem to be getting worse, not better as the season goes on. I would of hoped by now they would of gell'd a little better by now but I guess there is still some growing pains to work out. Not putting all the blame on them but GMAC is in a slump it seems. Our WRs, espcailly Julio has been dropping passes all season long. Can't really open 'er up until we can make a team respect us more and play more honest. My .02

First pass of the game on O was intended for Upchurch. I saw him in there alot. And yes the oline made frequent mental errors.

I had no problem with the playcalling. Look at how exhausted Ingram was after the gameclenching drive, I am sure the Coach Mac isnt interested in getting one of his best players killed.
