šŸ“” Reason for Concern: What's going wrong with Florida and Texas? - Southeastern Conference

What I find crazy about the story surrounding Arch isn't what we've been sharing here for the last two years. It's what was asked before he committed to Texas and what was summarily dismissed.

Ask yourself, how many times did you read someone mention the competition he was playing against in high school? I remember people comparing it to 2A and 3A teams in Alabama.

Crazily enough, he reminds me of the story of Craig Sanders who I thought was going to be a player, given time, when he committed to Bama. He looked better than he was based on the high school competition. He was one of Kirby's first guys as I recall.

Video didn't play

But..... he has been under Sark for 2+ years.
Played plenty of ball for Texas. Started 2 games last year i think

Got to be something going on.

Florida got F@@ked by scheduling. Maybe they aren't good anyway. But good ness
are they getting hammered by scheduling

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that UF is playing the toughest schedule in college football this season. The problems have been a QB that gets injured and misses time, undisciplined football and in a few games clock management. The first year or two of CBN's tenure, the Gators just did not have the talent to compete game in and game out. He has done a good job recruiting talent but some have not materialized, some left the team and some are playing. If CN can get through this season without being fired, I really think the team is heading in the right direction.

UTw is a solid program. If AM had been the best QB the past two seasons, he would have been on the field instead of QE. He was not the best QB and he was not on the field, plain and simple. IMO, there is entirely too much pressure being put on this kid bc his grandpa was a start at Ole Miss (he also played for a Saints team that did not have a winning record his entire tenure with the team), uncle Payton was a star in college and the pros and uncle Eli was as well. There is no telling what his dad, Cooper would have done if he had not had the neck injury. He may have been another star but we will never know.

The other thing that I will mention is that IMO, I think AM is playing with something wrong with his shoulder. He just does not look "natural" throwing the ball. Is he participating in practice or just enough for the media to see? I may be wrong and probably am but I do not remember seeing any deep throws since the OSU game. I see him throwing sidearm quite often which tells me he may be having mobility issues with his throwing shoulder. Pure speculation on my part.

The other issue I see with UTw is they had to replace a lot of players from last season, especially at WR. If you have played football, you know it takes the offense longer to jell than any other unit. You cannot replicate in the summer and even practice what you see and experience in a game. This may be the reason the team is having some issues on offense.

His delivery looks off to me. I don't recall seeing him throw like that last year. Of course I don't follow him, but he simply looks off.

Something is off......but the question is what. I don't know a lot, but I know that Sark (and Kiffen) are freaking QB whisperers. Look at the guys they have coached up over the years. Mack Jones during Covid year looked damn near Tom Brady like. Granted he had the slim reaper that was a vacuum cleaner in the field and could suck a football out of mid air with one hand. I don't think Sark has suddenly forgot how to coach a QB. Look at Ewers. Who was he before Sark came to Tx?

Is Sark held hostage by NIL money tied to Arch?
Nothing has changed at Texas. The boosters, lovingly referred to as the "Big Hats," aren't getting what they expected. With Arch, or Ewers (highly regarded transfer.) I mentioned this at the beginning of the season but in a bit of a different light. Sark has passed his "duties" to the "Big Hats" off to Jeff Banks. If you know anything about Banks you know that's going swimmingly well (setting pole dancers aside.)

I'm waiting for someone to say "he's more like his father than his uncle's."

Play callers or QB whisperers? We didn't see throws through tight windows with Kiffin. We saw receivers wide open. We aren't seeing that with Texas this season.

Bama had some great talent with Mac and company. I think we need to spread the credit.

He started under Daboll. The next season Enos was his QB coach, Locksley the guy behind the offense. Sark comes in for the '19 and '20 seasons. That's several cooks in the kitchen. (Coincidentally, the same thing has happened with Ty.)

Ironically, Mac wasn't a surprise while everyone was looking back to '19 and the position. It seems eerily close to what we're seeing now on some fronts.

You know that just because you a great assistant coach. Being a head coach you may not be. We know Coach Bryant has some assistant that try and it didn't pan out. Some played for him too.
