A little devil's advocacy here. With available scholarships VERY tight heading into signing day, I have to wonder if the sudden interest in Markell Boston (as a DB) might be a tip-off that landing Humphrey not too solid. Or maybe the staff simply wants an extra player at a thin position....or sees him as a solid WR? Who knows, what ya think?

Taking Boston doesn't mean we're missing out on anyone.

He's being recruited as a safety...and I'm assuming that is the position you're referring to as thin?

So he's being recruited purely as a safety? Did not know that, thanks. As you infer, the coaches apparently must not see any potential for him playing any thing other than safety. I have read from several different sources over weekend, with position labels ranging from "DB" per his HS coach, to "athlete," "safety," "WR," "safety/WR." Again, as devil's advocate, the counter to your statement about not missing out on anyone is that taking Boston also doesn't mean that we're not missing out on anyone The proof in the pudding is signing day. We're far from thin at corner.

The notion we lack experience at corner was true going into 2013. It's not the case going into 2014. With the exception of Cook everyone of those guys saw a lot of playing time in 2013.

Safety? The staff wanted at least three and if we do get Boston it'll give us our three. Thin fits here.

It's all dependent on qualifying...a few guys that are close that may not make the necessary scores.
