It depends a lot on the criteria used to determine who is the best coach in the SEC West. Right now, for my money, as bad as I hate to say it, it's hard to beat Tommy Tuberville. The guy consistently beats teams he has no business beating. The team pretty much always wins. They get better each year as the season goes along. Not too many other programs can say that. Still, UGA is beginning to own them now, and until that changes, they won't be competing for too many SEC titles. Plus, no national titles to his credit and too many pitiful performances against lesser opponents. In the area of National Titles, Nick Saban is the only one in the west who currently has one, but three coaches in the east do (Fulmer, Spurrier, Meyer) and Richt is not a bad step down.
The east is better coached as a group than the west.
My rank in the West, and then the east.
1-Saban/Tuberville (ugghhh)
3-Nutt
4-Leslie Miles
5-Croom
6-Whoever Arkansas hires
