🏈 Randy Shannon lateral move (TCU to Arkansas) LB coach

TCU has a newly revamped stadium, recruiting in Texas for Big XII vs MWC, a proven HC, is a private school with very deep pockets.

I'd almost say that TCU has an easier shot at a MNC than Arkansas.

Pretty sure Arkansas looked at him last year as a DC. I'd imagine he'll be recruiting the state of Florida.

It's a lateral job move.

TCU does not even come close to having the money and resources we have at Arkansas. Our football program is ranked in the top ten of Forbes most valuable programs. The facilities that we are building are top ten in the country.

The Billionaries that support us are plentiful. I can name 10 off the top of head. That's not countimg the millionaires.

Money is not a problem in Arkansas.

Randy Shannon will not stay at Arkansas very long. He will be a DC or HC very soon.

Shannon is getting an opportunity to coach in the SEC. That's something he has never done.

Thats like saying Troy has an easier shot at winning the National Title than Kentucky...

Yup, I know Arkansas has some heavy financial backing, don't forget that TCU has old school oil money in Ft Worth, I'm not saying they have more money that Arkansas, just that they have some deep pockets - their endowment is barely bigger, both are just over $1B.

I fully expected Patterson would leave TCU for Arkansas for the reasons you mentioned above, I don't get a position coach doing a lateral... that's all.

I think its a good hire for Arkansas btw.

Improved defense at Arkansas gets Shannon looks he wouldn't get at TCU. Defense remaining solid at TCU gets him what? A by-line in reports of Patterson having a solid defensive year.

I imagine we will have shannon no more than two -three years max... But if we can have a Chaney Offense, with a D handled by our new coaches.. we will be better period!. What do you folks think of our new staff thus far overall? I am surprised at the new hires being as great as they are and the amount of money being spent!

Agree on this is a short stay for Shannon.

Chaney offense? There's my question mark.
