🏈 Ramblings of a fan

1973, I was 7 years old, always playing outside with a white football with crimson bands around it, you know the one, very small and if it hit you in the face it would unleash bodily harm second to only a baseball. Took it everywhere just in case there was a pick up game and anybody ready to catch it. My father being only the second most Alabama fan in the world, me being the number one fan, would occasionally zip that ball back and forth to me on Sundays, cause Saturdays was saved for Bama football. I can remember my father pacing up and down the living room giving the refs every part of the English language and some foreign words to boot. Most games we had to listen to it on the radio, but one game (the Iron Bowl) we sat and watched on the TV. My father took me up on his lap and said, "you see that guy walking the sidelines? His name is "Bear" Bryant coach of the University of Alabama football team. One great coach." I didn't know it at the time but I was witnessing greatness.

Its hard to imagine that I have seen 5 Alabama National Championships during my lifetime, that's more than LSU has in their football history. (I think they claim 3) I have not forgot all the down years, nor the great years, It is in my Blood. One true lifelong passion that I will never give up, never budge for, and never waiver. It is etched in my everyday "doings". Not to many pictures out there of me without it on my personal somewhere, usually in the form of a cap. Some people call it being obsessed, some call it rediculos that someone follows a team so closely, I call it "Me". Like many of you, Alabama Football is yourself, it is your passion, it is your team. Tonight my friends, we unite again to watch our beloved Tide hit the gridiron and go after its 14th National Championship, and it doesn't get any better than this! Our team, Our Passion, Our Alabama Crimson Tide!

Roll Tide Roll!!!!

VERY well put, my friend! I was born in 1986. All my life my my father and uncles would tell me stories of the good old days when Bryant was walking the sidelines. I saw a glimpse of greatness when Stallings took command and gave us our title in '92, though I may have been too young to fully appreciate what it meant. Now Alabama football has returned to prominence. These are the days I can't wait to tell my children and grandchildren about! We're living in football history right now! ROLL TIDE!!!

Thank you, and you to saw greatness with Coach Stallings. I had the privilege to watch the 2009 team with my 3 sons and taking the youngest on my lap and point out Coach Saban. Named my youngest son Bryant. Roll Tide BamaCore!

I was born in 1970 and I too can recall days similar to the ones that you mentioned. Most were spent listening to the games on the radio but the Iron Bowl and the bowl game was always on TV. My dad and his 5 older brothers would tell me about Coach Bryant and his legacy. My first game was with my dad and 3 of my uncles at the age of 8 or 9 at Bryant-Denny. I later walked on at The University to chase my dream of playing for Coach Bryant. He had passed on by then, but to wear that Crimson jersey was my next goal. I'm nervous and anxious at the same time, just like when I used to play and even later coach. I can only imagine the juices flowing thru the team and coaches right now!! RTR!!!

I was born in 75, so I've been around for 4 of them, though I don't really remember the 78-79 years. I too, always have something of Alabama on. Just a couple of weeks ago, a young girl, who is an Auburn grad, saw me in the office and asked did I always have to wear something "Alabama"? I replied, yes, and even when I'm not wearing anything, and showed her the script "A" tattoo I have on my right arm!!!!!
