Raiders double up on former Alabama running backs - al.com


Kenyan Drake and Josh Jacobs were never teammates at Alabama, but the former Crimson Tide running backs will be now with the Las Vegas Raiders.


Drake became an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday afternoon and has chosen to sign with the Raiders, his agency announced on Thursday afternoon.


Scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent last offseason, Drake stayed with Arizona after the Cardinals used their transition tag on him. The tag set Drake’s salary at $8.483 million for the 2020 season.



Drake’s two-year deal with the Raiders includes $11 million in guaranteed money and incentives that could push the value to $14.5 million, ESPN reported.

This is brilliant move for several reasons:
1) Running game will be very potent. Both can run and can catch ball out of the field.
2) Less wear and tears for both of the guys.
3) Less pressure on QB.
