🏈 Question for smart guys in the know

Why did the Heisman Trophy candidate Ingram only carry the ball 17 times? Why?

Furthermore, who called the plays at the five? Was it GMac? Was it the coordinator?

Now, don't just say "I think." I think too. I don't know. Who here can definitively say, "This is what happened"? If you don't know first hand, in all due respect, let someone answer who knows.

seeing as how I don't believe Saban is a memeber of this board, you wont get a definitive answer

Will anyone here ever KNOW all the contributing factors that impact a decision - NO. Which means no one HERE will know WHY, unless the Decision Makers decide to share that with us. Until then, if we are indeed smart, we wait to judge.

If you are open to guesses, you can likely get some sound and reasonable guesses here. If not, I would suggest you focus on the Pressers.

That's roughly 66% of the rushing attempts in the game.

That's a number well above the season average. It's a number that mirrors what he did against South Carolina.

You know the answer to that. Everyone does. McElwain calls the plays for our offense.

If you are attempting to question the plays called, OK. Perhaps, if we get another 100 people around the country to do the same there will be an answer better than the one Saban has already given.

Read CrimsonTusks entry on the game
—it answers a lot about this game.

I'll be happy to discuss things further over there.

And no, I don't consider myself a smart guy. But, I do know what the head coach thinks about this ball game. And, part of it is voiced in that piece.

I'm sorry but that thing about who called the plays was just dumb. Of course it was McElwain. G-Mac is the QB, not the offensive coordinator and his last name isnt Manning so he doesn't call plays.

So, GMac cannot check off on a play? Someone here knows if he did or he didn't.

I'll admit it's darn easy sitting where I sit to make a judgement. My clan is usually watching the game and my dog is asleep. No one is judging whether or not I'm making the right decision in my head. Not so for our QB and the guys on the sideline and in the booth.

Regardless, it's on to LSU in two weeks.

Its on to LSU after today.

Does not look like either was a check off to me but cannot hear can only judge by time at line and what I see.

Still kinda floored that Bama did not pound the ball in there on the four...more hung up on that one particular point in the game. That was the momentum change for me.

Unless he can call an audible/check the play off thru telepathy, then no he didn't check off. He simply went to the line after the call was made in the huddle and snapped the ball.
