🏈 Question about Pass interference

Have they changed the rule? Or perhaps the parameters of how it is to be administered? Like the block/charge call in basketball this year.

There has to be something because I have witnessed more ignored PI at all levels and in all conferences this year than in the past several years combined. One damn near has to be guilty of a personal foul in order to draw a PI call now. Unless, of course, that one is a Bama player.

The biggest difference is they have stayed more consistent throughout a game. Usually they let them go until the end of the game, and they start calling the game differently

Back in the “leather helmet days” you were taught to go through the receiver but no contact before the ball got there. A play thats still a sore spot for me, 82 UA vs aU. On the boogs winning drive, Jeremiah Castile steps in front of aU receiver, barely brushes him and intercepts. Called for PI. Rest is history, Bo over top for boog 1 pt win.

I feel the game is now better due to more no calls. There are still some bad calls, but letting these guys play has made the game better as it was heading in a bad direction with that and targeting.
