🏈 Quarterback transfer reportedly set to visit Alabama

Ex-Georgia quarterback Jacob Park will visit Alabama this weekend, he told ESPN's Joe Schad.

A consensus four-star recruit last year, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Park received his release from Georgia June 11 after reportedly falling behind two other quarterbacks in a competition to replace Hutson Mason as the Bulldogs' starting quarterback.

Georgia also recently added Virginia graduate transfer quarterback Greyson Lambert.

"We've had conversations during which we discussed all the viewpoints," Bulldogs coach Mark Richt said in a news release June 11. "In the end, [Park] feels like the opportunity for significant playing time would be better at another school. I can understand his decision, and we'll support him in finding a good fit at another institution."

Park redshirted with the Bulldogs as a freshman last season.

The Goose Creek, S.C. native will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out this season should he transfer to an FBS school.

ESPN ranked Park as the fourth-best dual-threat quarterback and 93rd-best overall prospect in last year's recruiting class.

Park threw for 3,665 yards and 33 touchdowns as a senior at Stratford High School in 2013 while leading his team to a state championship.
