"They said if I came and didn't start my freshman year, I would still get on the field because I'm dynamic and they couldn't let my abilities sit on the bench," Smith said. "They said they would have a package for me. I would be coming in as a quarterback and I will give it my all. It would be hard for the other guys because I'm going to bring it."

“(Loeffler) said I’m the ‘chosen one,’” Johnson said. “He said they told the other four or five quarterbacks that they were talking to that I’m the chosen one. I’m the only quarterback that they’re (signing). They’re not going to take any other quarterbacks.”
