With several players recently giving up football and overall good news on the academic front for signees, where do we stand?

How many have or likely will qualify?
How many returning scholarship players do we now have?

85 - returning players = open slots
Qualifying signees - Open slots = grayshirts?

We have 65 on scholarship as of today, that number includes Prince Hall and Zeke Knight. That leaves 20 open slots. I think every signee will qualify with the possible exception of Kerry Murphy. That would mean 29 or 30 players (30 with Murphy), coming in for the fall, so you are looking at 4-5 guys who will either pay their own way or defer enrollment until Jan, unless more attrition takes place and/or some returning players are removed from scholarship.

There's one other guy that may fall under the medical scholarship. Then, thinking Ray and Hood to the MLB. Add the question of Prince...

That's 7 including who Porter mentioned...and if these suppositions work out it would mean 3 have to grey-shirt.

It's been hard for anyone to get solid word on Murphy. We'll know about Ray and Hood by the last of June, first of July I suspect. Murphy may be a question that isn't answered until the fall if he needs to take some classes over the summer.

I will as well. It is still a possibility, albeit a small one in my eyes.
