🏈 Purdue Exposes Ohio State

I was wondering a few times if he regretted leaving Tuscaloosa. Missed a Natty and a chance to start last year.

Didn't he get a ring for 2015? It may have been a redshirt year. Of course nothing like playing.

Yep, you're right, he was a True Freshman. Sometimes you question these things because he sat out anyways his Sophomore year, so even if he had not played a snap at Alabama that season he most likely starts last season and this season, same as he did at Ohio State. So instead of two Natty's with a potential third this season, he has received the same amount of playing time let's say and nothing to show for it really. Not trying to say it was a bad decision to play at Ohio State, but it just doesn't appear to have been a better decision to leave Alabama for Ohio State. Am I wrong in thinking that or missing something?

For a guy that was having the same issues as a Blake Barnett, which was playing time, it didn't make sense. He leaves Bama and immediately has to sit a year and then go compete for a position. Bama didn't have much depth that year and could have used him. By the time he has eligibility at Columbus, we were using a walk-on, Levi Wallace, at corner. In short, it was poor planning if it was entirely based on playing time.

I understand where you're coming from, but most everyone here and around the country had them winning five games this year, and they have pretty much thrown that back in the faces of everyone, so I would be positive if I were in their shoes

I saw a lot saying under 7.5. I didn't see people pointing to a five win cap. Right now it looks like a nine win cap for the season--but I wouldn't bet on that.

A better question is "I wonder if his dad regretted his actions forcing Kendall to transfer." That was a power play with Sheffield's dad which backfired. It's very similar to Blake Barnett's father in his involvement in what was going on with Blake. It's my understanding Kendall didn't want to transfer.

Now that you bring it up, I think I do remember his dad being involved. Man, sometimes as a parent you just have to step back and understand that you have to let your kids figure it out. I am guilty of this regarding my son. He is playing football for his first organized sport (flag football is the only thing they offer for 5 and 6 years olds in Madison, Georgia) and I was trying to protect him so much because he is a little behind speech wise (maybe six months to a year away from truly being where he needs to be), thinking it would be a tough game for him to play not being able to communicate potentially. Well, he went out there and is having a blast, making friends, playing very well, and every one of his teammates understands him and accepts him just like all of the other kids. I let down my guard to let him play instead of wasting a year and trying to work with him, and instead just let him go play and it has been awesome. I realized there that we just need to back off and let him be a kid like the rest of them and do our best inside the house to raise a gentleman that can make good decisions. Hopefully at 18 or 19 years old you have it figured out what is best for you and can make the best decision for your life and not allow others to make decisions for you. Isn't that what basically gets a lot of these professional athletes broke, listening to others?
