💬 Pro and College Playoff System

After watching the last few nights of the NBA and college softball playoffs I wonder why they do not move around the games like the NFL and college football.

I do love how the NBA rewards a team for having the best record but my thought would be have the best of six series and if a game 7 it goes to a neutral court a week later.

In college in believe the top 2 teams should be rewarded and have the first playoff game in their home stadium with the championship being at a neutral location

College softball i think should be moved around each year to Florida, Texas, Arizona, California or the defending champs home state

As a Alabama fan it would be nice to have a home game in the playoffs. However, the playoff locations are in markets where the weather is better, or at least more likely to be better. Having a playoff at Ohio State/Oklahoma/Oregon/Michigan/Nebraska/Penn State is guaranteed to be cold. In addition, most of the college locations don't have the hotels, restaurants and other activities to entertain the crowds for a 3-day minimum stay. If you put the championship in a neutral location, how do you guarantee that it's a neutral location beforehand? We don't know the final two teams until about 10 days before the game. A city can't remove a convention to clear the way for a football game.

One of the things the playoff process was supposed to maintain was the existing bowl system. Pro teams don't have that. By having two playoff games in home stadiums, you need to add four teams to the bowl roster. We already have too many bowl games with several teams that, in my opinion, aren't bowl worthy with 6-6 records.
