🏈 Pretty solid game for AJ

He didn't turn the ball over, and did look poised playing in such a loud stadium on the road.

I do think the offense needs grow into something better than what we have seen so far, and hopefully they will, to conservative right now, boring game plan 2 weeks in a row, maybe they are taking it slow for now with such a good defense to lean on.

Yeah, I think Saban tends to be conservative on play-calling anyway, but when you have two qb's with very little experience, that's especially going to be the case.

I don't want to be over critical, but our offensive gameplan has been horrible the last two weeks. We won't be able to have such a vanilla gameplan against LSU or we will get spanked.

AJ did look good. My only complaint is he needs to up his completion %. He was what 19-34 today?

My only defensive complaint would be our pressure us non existence. Even blitzing we didnt get very good pressure.

Personally, I really liked the play of AJ, it wasn't too much, he did a lot like GMac used to and managed the game but at the same time AJ has an arm, there were two passes that he really was able to thread the needle (though one was dropped early in the game) so I'm happy with him

He really did look good, he managed the offense really well, never panicked, had some really good throws (especially the TD throw to Williams), and of course the biggest thing was no turnovers. The only thing that has me concerned was the tipped balls, I have to go back and watch so I dont know if it was him or the O-Line on those tips or just really good play from the D-Line.

Wow u really r being way over critical imo, his completion percentage was over 61%...on the ROAD for the first time in a VERY hostile environment. wow. would we like to discuss Greg McElroy's first road trip? when he was 57% on the road against...KENTUCKY?!

and the defense, we got a TON of pressure...we didnt get any sacks sadly but their QBs were picking their butts off the ground the majority of the game. CJ Mosley and Donta for one got BIG hits on the QB. both resulted in the near picks from Lester and the pick from Barron was because of pressure. i dont really get where u think we didnt get pressure.

My mistake on AJ. Had a good completion %.

I wouldn't say we got lots or tons of pressure, but we got some. Our pass rush from our line was non existence, so let me clarify better, we got zero pressure from our line and some when we blazed.

I think AJ did a good job for his first start on the road. I never get a good feel for the game when I watch it live, but I'm going to watch it again in a little while and see where the mistakes was on the tipped balls.

I'm leaning more with STOMP here. I'm not comparing this game to GMac and Kentucky. I'm measuring this against where we need to be in getting ready for LSU.

I love the cool head that AJ showed. That part is very much on track to be ready for a HOME game against LSU. True, AJ took care of the ball, but what worries me is that the only snaps against a Defense as good as LSUs that AJ will see will be in practice when no one will be trying to put him on his but. Threading that needle to M. Williams for that short TC pass would be ill-advised against LSU. I'm saying AJ has needs to get better to achieve what we all want him to achieve...but GREAT improvement from last week though. Keep pressing.

I agree AJ did a good job, and is showing a lot of promise for the future. What AJ needs to realize, and I'm sure Saban is all over this, is that Penn State was an average opponent, and that things are going to much tougher against the likes of Arkansas in two weeks, against Florida, LSU, Auburn, Miss. State.

He just needs to keep a level head about this win, and continue to improve.
