Crystal ball has Evans at 98% chance of signing with Auburn...

I glanced at that a week or so ago when I started the thread over on the recruiting forum. (FWIW, it's 96%.)

I like the CB over on 247. It was a great idea for the site. It was in the mid to high 90's on Tony Brown to LSU as well.

In Evans case, I've talked to a few guys that have been very reliable in the past concerning where kids are going to end up signing. Two of them have made some calls I've doubted dating back to...geez, I'm thinking around 2008 with Jerrell. But, in the end, they've been right far more often than wrong. They told me a couple of days before the Under Armor game we'd be landing Tony.

By no means will it make or break our class. If they're wrong, and my believing what they are saying makes me wrong as well? I'm not going to say, to either, "you were wrong about Evans" the next time they say "expect this guy to sign." I'll still trust what they're saying to be the case.

I was here during 2008, that was some fun times for sure. I remember cutting class that day, who on earth could sit there in class knowing all the big names Alabama was finally pulling in? It was the first major class of the Saban era, honestly the next 3-4 were exciting but you couldn't beat that first time.

The hell Porter, changing your name is Un-American?!

When was the last time? 2008? I recall sharing several laughs that day.

We had our surprise that year with Ingram giving his verbal that Tuesday night and our shits and giggles with Jerrell's announcement that Wednesday.

The majority of the fan base got caught up in Julio's announcement that day. However, the biggest thing I recall were the conversations about Marcel. Very few were talking about him and both of us kept mentioning him as the sleeper of the class.

If I recall...that signing didn't go over well with the Auburnites either...

Seems I might have taken off 1, maybe 2 more. I didn't even log on the the internet/Twitter today until about 8:45 am. I used to be on right at 6 am, killing the F5 key.

I "worked" my day around what I wanted to hear...was on early, but left mid-morning and hell or high water wasn't going to keep me from being online when Rashaan announced.

I wanted to watch the meltdown.

I'm calling myself reformed. Instead of wearing our F5, I did turn the TV to face outside, opened the window on the back of the house and when I took a break from the project I was working on I did so in front of that window checking in on the U.

I'm glad I did...setting Evans aside, kudo's to several schools out there for closing strong yesterday. USC and LSU both ended a lot better than it appeared they would this time yesterday.

This amused me...Seawell is a pretty damn good recruiter in his own right.

No complaints here. Very excited to see what Humphrey and Brown can do for the track team and on the football field.

Most excited about Derek Kief and Cameron Sims. I don't think either will play in '13, but in the future, that could be a scary tandem.

What made me the happiest though? Stealing Evans of course. Guy that grows up an auburn fan, lived in auburn, both parents went to auburn, the auburn work their asses off to get him, and then just basically gives them the finger and comes here. Ah that one has to hurt.
