šŸˆ Pollack says Georgia is the most successful team against Bama ... huh?

David Pollack claims in the attached article that Kirby and his players have been ā€œthe most successful team against Bamaā€. I had to reread that a couple of times to be sure I understood what he said. Now. I don’t know if it’s just me and my generation (old fogies) but almost winning didn’t used to be considered a success in us old guy’s day in age. Has the world truly left us behind? I mean I know the America we once knew and loved has been taken over by those who viscerally despise us ... but I didn’t know word meanings had also been torn asunder. Who knew success was now more closely aligned with losing ... as long as you could have won. As in you could have won if you hadn’t lost. Got it.

David Pollack's inner child after that interview...

I get his point here. They've been successful outside of the scoreboard. That's his point, I think.

When it comes to the "state of the program," while some will point to UGA copying Bama, their program is one of the schools that can compete with Bama on several levels. (Take running back recruiting as one example.).

Here's where I see this falling apart.

He gets paid to tell his opinion. But, it's delivery...getting paid to voice an opinion but like a good joke, it falls when it's delivered.

He's got a good mind for football.

I do like it because he speaks his mind and his first notion isn't thinking about the Board of Directors and what they may do to him. He just says it, and I can respect that.

You’re too kind to him and that particular comment. He could have said he thinks Kirby and UGA are the closest to Bama in talent, facilities, etc. He could have said, UGA had two opportunities on the big stage to show they had a program to rival Saban’s Tide but just came up short. Or he could have said any number of other things to get across the point that Kirby and the pups have been successful in almost fully closing the gap with the Tide as evidenced by recruiting, fund raising and most importantly in playing Bama to the wire in two big games. Of course, he didn’t ... he used the phrase ā€œmost successful against Alabamaā€ and that’s just wrong. Unless, as I said in my original post, almost winning now equates to success. It didn’t in my day ... that’s the only point I was trying to make. By the way, I too like Pollack as long as UGA’s not in play ... he’s typically very astute on analyzing the teams strengths and weaknesses before a game. Though, he should never, ever try to earn a living picking the winners of college football games. His picks are as bad as Herbstreit’s! Another guy who does a fairly good job as long as the bucknuts aren’t in the hunt.

True. Thats the funny thing about McElroy. He tries so hard to not be a homer...makes him a "reverse homer" sometimes
I'd have more respect for him if he came out and said, "Look yall, I used to be play QB at Alabama, so your god damn right I'm going to biased towards my alma mater. Don't get mad at me, that your favorite team sucks ass compared to Alabama. Sucks to suck."
