šŸˆ please explain how almost everyone of these top recruits have Ole Miss in their top choices?

When it comes to recruiting, I don't worry about it much. In years past I really stressed about key recruits goin got Auburn or MSU or UGA; however, as time would prove out most of those guys ended up being of the wrong mindset and either didn't perform or were kicked off the team they choose. I think Saban has a pretty straight forward approach to these kids and he tells them like it is (or rather like it will be) and some of these kids are more seduced by the "fun" they see at other schools. It's a key reason I think Auburn has struggled even with good recruiting classes. How do you get kids to "buy" into the process it takes to win when you "sell" them on all the fun... I think a coach loses control of his program pretty quickly that way.

By the way, I really don't think AU/MSU/OleMiss or the like are buying players... at least any more so than any other program, including ours. I think Boosters could/can/do take some things under the table, but I also see that at almost every school. I think where Freeze and the like get lost is recruiting kids on promises and "fun". Fun could be early playing time, party time, girls... whatever... but I don't think it's something that is part of Saban's program. You have to come here knowing and willing to put in the hard time it takes to win and for some kids it's not what they want.

Winning is fun. Preparing to win may not be fun (except for CNS), but winning is fun.

That's an easy sale.

Kiffin at CFP media days:
ā€œI don’t think anyone would say ā€˜fun’ is a term used around our program very much,ā€ he said. "You’re not here to have fun; you’re here to win.ā€

"Coach Saban said it before,ā€ Lane Kiffin continued. ā€œ'You win the trophy, you hold it up, you take a picture, and you hand it away and you get ready to win the next one.' That’s how he is.

Lol ..

I absolutely cannot believe that @CoachHughFreeze would take a picture like this with a recruit. #BlownAway

Kiffin has a dry sense of humor. Have any of you thought that maybe him getting left by the buses was planned? Maybe the boss wanted Kiffin to ride with him so they could discuss his plans for 2016!

Did you watch the video of that interview? He was obviously being sarcastic.

No. I didn't. But even if I had, he usually sounds sarcastic or "smartassy" to me, so I'd probably not notice.

In any case, I thought it was funny because it was close to what CNS said after the ND game. Paraphrasing: "Winning is fun. I like to win"

If Ole Siss is paying players, think about one thing. You can't trust a team to do the right thing for your career if you are getting paid to play. Eventually this will come out because it always does, and anyone that works for any organization that is crooked will not be loyal through and through.

My guess is most programs like Ole Mist are "selling" playing time. They are playing to the kids natural desire which is to play "now". The average elite player doesn't want to have anything to do with sitting.
