🏈 Players are scheduled to report Thursday with practice beginning Friday.

Im thinking about going, my dad mentioned he would like to go.

you should definitely try to make it. it's a lot of fun. it's damn hot, but it's still fun.

having been several times i can tell you that if you are going, get there early. i always get there early that morning and sit in line for a few hours (yep.....that long).

once the stadium opens for the practice you can go in, but you can't leave and get back in line until they start letting those people in for the autograph session. at least, that's how it's supposed to be. i've never tried so i don't know if they enforce that or not.

and if you're planning on getting there early to sit in line, bring a chair, some drinks and some snacks. you can't take them inside the stadium when you enter for the autograph session, but there are people there that will watch it for you so nothing happens to it. iv'e never had any issues with anything going missing that i've had to leave outside the stadium (juts inside the gate).

they do the autographs in a line formation. each player has their own line. they're not allowed to pose for personal pictures but you can take pics while they sit there. obviously the more popular players (Yeldon, Collins, Drake, Fowler) will have the longest lines, but Coach Saban's line always stretches from one end zone to the other. i've gotten his autograph several times at other events so i never try to get his. i only try to get seniors and/or juniors i know probably won't be there next season.

sk33tr is correct in all of that. I will say it is one of the most pathetic/funniest scenes I have ever seen when they open up the gates for autographs and you see grown ass men and women (mostly overweight as heck) taking a full sprint down the middle of the field to get autographs. They'd push a grandmomma in her walker over to get them. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the autographs from a sentimental standpoint of having a collection to commemorate my years as a fan and remembering athletes, it's fantastic for the kids, but you'll see a lot of these people with a cut throat attitude of cutting in line, getting impatient, and doing it all to make a profit by selling it at enormous prices. We've talked about it before on here. I'm glad they're still doing it for the kids sake atleast. Also enjoyable to interact with the players for a quick second and see them up close and get a real good idea of how massive most of them really are. I want to see how big Derrick Henry and OJ Howard look in person. I have been told Henry has put on a few more pounds and turned what he had into more solid muscle, and I hear OJ is just a massive dude to begin with.

Affectionately known as "The Running of the Gumps."

I really have no desire to sit in a line for hours and then having to sprint to possibly get Coach Saban's autograph. I would much rather see the practice myself and then I will first film the idiots running, and then I will go down and try to get autographs from those with the shortest lines.
