🏈 Player Cam : Dee Hart

gThats all me typing at 1 AM halfasleep.

But D. Hart has the build of Chris Johnson. Chris johnson is a great back, chris johnson is fast and elusive......

....Chris Johnson gets taken down by arm tackles...Chris Johnson cant push the pile to save his life...

What I was getting at is whhile Dhart looks like a good traaditional RB, he is not a good one for the style of smashmouth offense we run and needs to play a versatile position. Thats gettiing popular in the pros too.. Or something like that.

based on what?

Based on precedence.

Its not impossible to defy trends, but I do not expect him to either.

I think it's premature to see what he can do in regard to breaking tackles. It's as much, if not more, about posture and balance as size. There are many, many larger backs than Ingram who can't shed tacklers. Plus, if he can get to the edge, hit seams quickly or make the first tackler on an underneath/swing route miss he's at the second level before contact.

The idea that we only use our backs in "smash mouth" mode was dispelled last year.

RTR,

Tim

The lower center of gravity is going to help Dee in YAC yards. He will be a harder target and he has the speed and moves to make tacklers miss. No one will be dragging him down by an arm tackle. He is 190-195lbs and is THICK. We aren't talking about a kid that is 160-170lbs trying to run the ball.

sproles is about 5'6 I belive. Plays as a third down back, and also lines up in the slot at times and runs medium level routes. Im not saying Dhart is that small, but i am saying a role like that might be good for him. If i see DHart up the middle enough times in a few years, im just going to go berserk.

I have visions of Dee Hart on a wheel route out of the backfiedl against a linebacker and it makes me giddy. Several great Alabama backs weren't big backs. Siran Stacy comes to mind. At 5'9" and 190 or so he will be tough to get down. I remember John Madden talking about a back of similar size and describing it as trying to tackle a bowling ball.

Siran Stacy, Sherman Williams, Shaud Williams, hell Johnny Musso was only 5'11, 190 lbs.
