It is one of those unsaid things, but Auburn is known for taking some questionable to blatant shots at their opponents in big games.

All this talk about not "letting Ingram win the heisman on us" by the Auburn players, and the willingness by some of the Auburn fans to call for multiple cheap shots have me worried. They could go for our offensive linemens knees like last year, or even worse, try to end Mark Ingram's career.

So, I dont know what to expect Friday.

Well I suppose thats true, I just find myself concerned for the players welfare, and felt I should voice that worry. Our weekly trickle down column just happened to remind me of that sad fact.

It is certainly pointless, but I can only hope weve taken extra precautions for that crap.

I've read countless posts and heard many, many people (including my father-in-law) alluding to this singling out Bama's stars and "taking them out". I believe despite what we as a fan-base think...for the most part, the coaching staff at any Division 1 FBS school (including Auburn) are well aware of any repercussions that would result in doing such a thing. Factor in a Heisman hopeful and a game played on a day with very little else going on in college football giving it a wide audience, and I just can't see anyone stupid enough to do something like that. Blount's early outburst at Oregon really tainted that program for most of the year and that was a middle of the road PAC-10 team. Look at all the flack that Spikes got at Florida with his eye-gouging. The thing I worry about the most are legal cut blocking hurting some knees that could cause some serious issues for our lineman with 2 likely very important games coming up.

Cheaps shots have their way of coming back around. I like the fact that it'll actually give us a reason to run up the score on the Barners. That is if we didn't already have one.

They better keep their eyes on ryan pugh, i remember very well what he did a couple of years ago. This boy needs somebody to smack him right in the mouth all day long.
