This is where I got these stats from, I found some interesting things.

First, the stars that stick out on this team statistically(That means no Cody) are the following:
Eryk Anders
Marcel Dareus
Rolando McClain
Javier Arenas
Mark Barron

So much gets made about Rolando McClain some of the other guys are going unnoticed.

First: Did you know that Eryk Anders leads this team with 8 TFL for 56 yards? He is quietly having a good year at Jack. He probably hasnt been a constant force on the QB, but he is still tied for 2nd on the team in sacks with four for 35 yards. Much has been made about overlooking Reamer, but this guy is a force himself.

Marcel Dareus is the leader in sacks with 4.5. He has been a disruptive beast on the line.

The leaders in total tackles are McClain(57), Barron(48), Arenas(44), and Anders(40).

The leaders in solo tackles are: McClain(33), Arenas(28), Barron (26) and Anders(17)

Tackles for loss: Anders(8-56), Arenas(7.5-56), McClain(7-28), Dareus(6.5-36), Terrence Cody(5-10), Mark Barron(2.5-11)

Interceptions: Barron(4), McClain(2), Arenas(1), Anders(1)

Joeman's awards
--

Most impresive all purpose player: Rolando McClain

Most impressive underrated player: Eryk Anders

Best coverage man: Mark Barron

Most disuptive player: Marcel Dareus
--

And most outstanding defensive player: Javier Arenas

Even with a missed game, the stats he has put up are terrific for a corner. You never see him get beat, and he tackles very soundly. He is also really exciting to watch on corner blitzes. His PR and KR skills overshadow his ability, but he has been one special player this season.

So midway through the season, how does it all look to you so far on D?

it looks pretty darn good to me. i wish we could get to the QB a little quicker with a 4 man rush, but what we're doing seems to work well enough to have the best defense around so....

Well I did forget to add that Mark Barron leads the league in passes defended and is tied for the lead in INT, so he gets coverage award from me :)

Ofcourse I might also be partial to giving that award to a safety

Javy and McClain switching is very debatable, but I wanted to draw attention to just how much noise he has made this year. They are both studs and either could very easily get either award.

I dont question at all that Baron has more pass deflected or picks than Javy, but Javy rarely even gets thrown at it. That's for good reason.

Not trying to get into a debate but Reamer has probably been the most underrated since he first stepped foot on campus. All the kid does is work his tail off and paly great technique and do his job to the T. Anders has been underrated before the season but we did see glimpses in the AU game last season. Joeman, how about splitting that award?
