@Davestwin got me to thinking about a few plays or calls that have cost us big during a drive/game. Some of those plays have hurt more than others. Other than the missed field goal return for a TD at Auburn, what play stands out to you?

I'm going with third and half a mile, nd deep in their territory at the Sugar Bowl. Pass complete and we end up losing 24-23.
 
Play....no doubt. ... the kick6 was the worse ever...missed 4-5 FGs all day....a d then the extra second... and a shot at the 3peat....

Officials call....the no TD call on namaths sneak vs Texas in orange bowl...in 64 season ...1/1/65...

....play/no call...clemsons TD....last second....for NC...offensive interference?

Well Griffith didn't kick any of those others. I look back and it's a terrible instance of what happened, but I still think trying it was better than kneeling or throwing a hail mary. Looking at the percentages, what were they that the Kick 6 happens, 0.000000001%? Chances he makes the field goal, 10% maybe, maybe more? It sucked as I was there, but I wouldn't change the call as you gotta trust your players and what they are capable of.
 
No call: I donā€™t remember the year, but we were playing LSU. Our receiver was in the end zone facing the QB with his back to the DB. The DB pushed him down waaay before the ball got there and the official, who was standing there watching them never threw a flag. It may not have been a game changing no call, but it was a bad one. I think the commentators even questioned how he missed that call.

Agree 100%. Was just the miracle luck of AU that year. Same in Ugagame for them.

Bad Call - The LSU catch around the goal line a couple years ago... Still not sure how that got justified and the call was held up

Bad Play - One that never happened... 12 men on the field

Game - Pick 6. Goodness that hurt

The receiver was Keith Brown: 2004, The SEC issued a statement that next week saying "missed call."

A score on that drive would have put Bama up by 11 with roughly ten left in the third..the Tide were up 10-6 at the half.

Came to post this one. Not only was it a push down, but an interception with a decent run back out to the 45. That game pissed me off so much. We held them really good in the first half. And then at the start of the second. But after that, we just kind of let it go.

Does anyone believe Wayne Huizenga would have hired Nick Saban with an 8-4 record and a loss to Bama? I don't, and if not then Saban is still at LSU or probably at Texas now. That non-call is the biggest and brightest silver lining on a dark cloud in the history of silver linings on dark clouds.

For whatever reason, that is the (no)call I immediately think of whenever this topic comes up... Was at that game with a former esteemed poster of RTB, among others. Best tailgate (LSU boosters) I've ever been to.

I am the exact same way. This is the one I always think of as well. While I had hope for this game, I'm sure it would have been dashed in the second half. Shula's teams always had the amazing ability to $hit the bed and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Okay that was just before Bama Football got into my blood! But you right CPBB had a juju against Texas. The one I was talking about was the 1973 Cotton Bowl. When the QB step out of bound for a long run.
