🏈 Peterson said he will shut down Julio

Peterson insists he is ready to take Julio Jones out of the equation. That's the kind of bravado Peterson always shows, according to Chad Jones, who said Peterson prefers his teammates concentrate on other matters and leave the coverage to him. In 2009, Peterson has 26 solo tackles to go with two interceptions, six breakups and eight passes defended. "I think Patrick's pulse is always revving," Chad Jones said. "He always tells me, 'Don't worry about it,' but I always tell him I'm going to be there, too." Peterson said that won't be necessary. "I tell him all the time if I need it, I'll ask, but most of the time I don't need it," he said. Not even against Julio Jones? "No," Peterson said.
<HR color=gray SIZE=1> Thought that was interesting, maybe a little smack talking wont be bad for julio though he just doesn't seem like the guy you wanna make mad on a football field. If he has a bad day it will be because of our offense not anything to do with paterson IMO.

I'm sure we will still see double and triple coverage. If not, they will pay dearly.

Agreed. I welcome the chance for 1 on 1 with Julio. Must coaches aren't that stupid as not to have a safetly double him at all times. That said, it's Uncle Lester this week.

He sure did a good job of shutting down AJ Green: 5 catches 99 yards and a TD.

I'm thinking we are going to see eight and nine in the box early on in this game with the thoughts of getting to Greg and containing Mark. That leaves man coverage...

I'm right there with you Terry and Reger. If they sit back and try to stop the run with 7 then Mark rips them for 200+. To me you have to pick your poison and say we're stopping the run and you're gonna have to prove you can throw it. I think CNS is thinking the same thing against LSwho as well. The Jefferson kid will have to prove that he can throw it successfully and consistently against us. That's what you do against young QBs.

Right now, unless otherwise proven to me Saturday, I'll remain convinced that Tyrod Taylor is a bigger threat than Jefferson.

As much as Julio loves to block, it just might be the case that JJ takes Paterson out of the equation as a tackler. In a "war of attrition" Bama runs deeper and that scenario works in our favor.

And if you're right Terry, in that JJ would end up in single coverage, woe be to the DB who thinks that they alone can tackle Jones.

Something about this video stands out that I haven't noticed this year, the ball is thrown to a spot prior to Julio even breaking in the route. Have I simply over looked it this year?

That makes me giddy!!! Considering LSU has played only 1 top 50 team in passing Offense:

35 <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Washington</st1:place></st1:state>
61 <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Georgia</st1:place></st1:country-region>
74 Tulane
77 <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Auburn</st1:place></st1:city>
85 LA <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Lafayette</st1:place></st1:city>
90 <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">Florida</st1:state></st1:place>
106 Miss State
109 Vandy

and they gave up over 320 yards to Washington and 230 yards to #61 Georgia. If anyone thinks they aren't severely vulnerable, I have some swamp land to sell you.
