ND was 2-8. Johnny Majors was the runner up, but Jim Brown, who finished fifth, should have won it. Hornung threw 3 TDs and 13 INTs.

Still going on in the 60s. John Huarte, of ND of course, won it in 1964. At least one person thought Joe Namath was twice as good as John Huarte. Sonny Werblin, owner of the Jets gave Joe Namath a $400K signing bonus. He gave john Huarte $200K. Big waste of $200K.

400K was at that time very big time! I wonder what it compare today rate?

I Google it! In other words, $400,000 in 1964 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $3,359,845.16 in 2020, a difference of $2,959,845.16 over 56 years. I bet Willy Joe love to have it now!

i ran wildfire crews out west on big wildfires after i retired A lot of western crews weren't happy finding out they had a southerner bejng their boss. Lol

And they claim we are prejudiced. We are all somewhat but their elitist attitudes will never allow them to either see it or acknowledge it.

There was and still is a huge bias when it comes to nd football. Hornug played on a 2-8 team but when on to have a stellar career at Green Bay. RIP!
