šŸˆ Pat Forde indicating a second story by Yahoo....

It dawns on me that Pat Forde is some sort of sadist, lurking around Tuscaloosa for when the "bomb" went off and to observe how people would react. Did he expect people to start throwing themselves off the top of Bryant Denny Stadium when the story was released. These guys have some motive for sure. Anybody's guess to exactly what it is?

Alabama = Ratings. Hell, look at that idiot Finebaum who has made a great living off of us with doing nothing more than stirring in the airwaves and trolling readers.

I don't think Yahoo! Sports is out to get us... or anyone else really in terms of schools. I've been following Charles Robinson for a while now, and I think the only entity he wants to bring down is the NCAA, not any particular school. Not sure Forde is any different. He has never done anything in the past to lead me to believe he has any disdain for Alabama.

Yikes... I really get the feeling this isn't going to end well. I know there are alot of people on here that aren't worried, but I got a feeling the NCAA is going to try and make a point after all the flack they've taken recently...

I don't think this ends well for us because this is the third player to be implicated in accepting benefits. The flack the NCAA has taken in my opinion has been unfounded because there wasn't much proof of wrong doing with Manziel, but it seems to me there's a lot of proof for the three players from Alabama

Who is the third? Fluker, Barron, and .. ?

Go back in recent history, you'll see that in almost every case the championship team has been implicated in improprieties of some sort. Why would Bama be immune? True or false, it happens. I'm pleasantly surprised it's taken this long to reach the Tide. Money follows great success in virtually every instance, in every profession, and in most all activities. Mixing the money and the NCAA is like throwing a power cord into a swimming pool though. Things don't usually end well.

Do you bench Stinson? Even though you believe he might be telling you the truth.

What got Jerrell Harris in hot water was the fact that he lied to Saban over the laptop deal. I do not think Stinson would lie to Saban, but when I was in college I was young and pretty dumb.:lance:

Did the link change or something? I see nothing "new" or a second story in that link. Just a re-hash of yesterday's news.

Both Stinson and Barron were briefly mentioned in the initial yahoo article yesterday. As said, Stinson's name was on a restaurant reservation but he did not go with Fluker to the meeting (change of heart, reality of implications, clear mind judgement, sleeping, who the F knows) but he appears to be clear for now. Not sure what all is being said about Barron other than what was mentioned in the yahoo article. So if anyone has a link with specifics please share.

They are not out to get "us" or other teams. They are out to abolish the NCAA as they (the media) want a semi-pro league. They see the NCAA for what it is. Big time football = big time money for all involved (media, schools and the NCAA). Personally I don't think Alabama is behind all this. I think this sort of thing has been going on at ALL schools as far back as you can go and will always go on at schools in the future. The best thing a school can do is put in place a compliance department (check), inform and instruct student athletes and their families on these issues (check), maintain control as much as you can (presumably another check). If we did those 3 things I don't see how any of this comes back to bite us in a major way (1-2 scholarships at best). However IF the shool and staff were involved or knew about it then expect heads to roll and natties gone. I don't think Saban runs that kind of program as he's never indicated such....EVER. But I've seen stranger things happen in life so I guess you just never know and that's why there are investigations.

Personally I wouldn't of cared if this shit came out next week. The fact it came out this week before the A&M game is what pisses me off the most. Just ruined the big game for me. Like a sour taste in the back of my mouth.

I wish I could speak the same for the Barners at work. I just had a somewhat heated arguement with one that approached me trying to troll. In the end he still thinks Auburn = The angel of college athletics for how things "should be done" :lance:.... despite recent antics such as Cam's daddy shopping him around, grade changes to get recruits eligible, paying players to return for their senior years instead of entering the draft, etc. Of course it fell on deaf ears.

Like I told him. I'm not worried until there is some proof that shows the university and the staff were involved. Until then I consider this a stupid, isolated, selfish, incident for DJ that unfortantely has cast a dark cloud over the program. As a fan it's a distraction for me but I'm hoping that won't be the case for the players on Saturday.

Well handled. As someone said recently, arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. Even though youa re a lot better, the pigeon craps all over the board and struts around acting like he has won.
