🏀 Outdoor basketball games? Your thoughts?

I've always thought it's been much ado about nothing. It's a made for TV spectacle that doesn't make a lot of sense. On par with college football being played in Ireland? Maybe.

The game in Charleston last night that ended up being called? Down. Right. Stupid.

When this game was announced I thought the idea was stupid. Last night, before time for the game to tip, I knew it was stupid.

For the last three, maybe four weeks in a row, I've walked outside and looked at the weather. Water/condensation has been starting just after nightfall. And, for some reason they thought they could put a basketball court on an old aircraft carrier in the harbor and it would remain dry?!?!

Depends on the location. An outdoor game in San Diego, easily doable most of the year

In Dallas...kinda stupid.

I don't know what the draw is for doing them outdoors, but I commend them for trying to engage the Veterans this weekend.

Oh, I commend those that have the desire to salute the Vets.

I'm glad this wasn't one of my projects at work. I certainly wouldn't have had a very bright outlook on the results. Tickets sold out, which is a good thing. Of course, the last game getting canceled probably means refunds will be sent.

It's the idea of having it outside, here, and those that actually thought it would work that floors/floored me.

When it first came up in the 3rd quarter meetings I asked the group, sarcastically, if anyone had ever poured a glass of iced tea in a glass at room temperature. No one got what I was saying until I spelled it out.
