Mike Maggio is both an Arkansas circuit judge and a passionate LSU football fan. Alas, getting too wrapped up in the latter has (for now) prevented him for advancing his career as the former.
On Wednesday, Maggio ended his campaign for a seat on the Arkansas Court of Appeals after he came clean as âgeauxjudgeâ on the wildly popular LSU message board TigerDroppings. Hereâs a selection of some of the questionable comments âgeauxjudgeâ posted, per NOLA.comâs Emily Lane:
TigerDroppings (and college football fan message boards in general) contain comments that are equally if not more disturbing than Maggioâs. The only difference is that those other commentors arenât judges.

- One post about baby names commented on the name of University of Alabama football player HaâSean âHa Haâ Clinton-Dix, who is black, suggesting someone with his name or others like âTaneeshaâ or âBryleeâ wouldnât become a doctor or banker. âStick with something close to normal,â he said. âOr come sit in criminal court any day and see the âcommon names.â â
- Another suggests women should stay married to their husbands who have cheated instead of getting divorced because they are better off financially.
- A Jan. 17, 2012 post by âgeauxjudgeâ contains possible confidential proceedings involving actress Charlize Theronâs adoption of her son, explaining a âjudge friendâ of his handled the case.
- Another post about a woman arrested for having sex with a dog, Maggio apparently posted it was âjust a small stepâ from having âTGGLBSâ sex, an apparent reference to transgender, gay, lesbian or bisexual sex.
TigerDroppings (and college football fan message boards in general) contain comments that are equally if not more disturbing than Maggioâs. The only difference is that those other commentors arenât judges.
