Her record as coach is about to hit the
500 mark.

I could go on about this and that with the history of the program over the last decade but those that respond here know the story.

Thoughts?

Strides are being made. I wish she had been hired earlier though. Sylacauga had a girl that was a BAMA fan and the previous staff didn't even take a look. She is at F$U now lighting it up. Shakayla Thomas is her name. Damn good player too!! In state kids that are good enough, should never leave the state.

I agree , I see improvement , but at an agonizingly slow pace . I think we're Just a player or two away from really having something . So I agree again we need to get the star players that are in state . Are their facilities at the point where they would compete with most other S.E.C schools not named tenn. ?

Beating Tennessee the last two times they've played is a big statement on how far Alabama has come.

My point here really applies to men's ball but I think it's important to keep in mind with women's as well.

Some programs are 2-3 year programs. By that I mean if they hire a new coach they should be as good as they were with their last coach. If not it's a quick hook and they move on. UNC is an example of that. When Dougherty didn't produce, he was gone.

Some school are your 4-6 year programs. Alabama basketball, on the men's side, certainly is one of those. You can't expect a new coach to come in and turn the program around as quickly as one should at a school like UNC.

Curry, and the women's program here? It's certainly a 4-6 program if not a 5-8 considering the sport itself.
