Here's the latest on the coaching search for anyone wondering.

South Carolina's Shawn Elliott interviewed for the position but has decided to stick with the Gamecocks. Im sure Spurrier handed him death threats.

"It was a great honor to be considered for a coaching position at the University of Alabama, but I feel it's in the best interest of me and my family to remain at South Carolina," Elliott said. "We've had a lot of success here over the past three years and I'm committed to being part of that continued success for many years. I'm proud to be a Gamecock."

Mario Cristobal, current Miami Hurricanes tight end coach, is now being contacted by Alabama. Cristobal was formally FIU's head coach but was fired for apparently having a bad season after having two great seasons by FIU standards the years before. Cristobal was a hot coaching name for the past couple of years. The fact he's looking for a change only a month or so into his Miami job could mean he's serious about a better gig. On the other hand I am kind of weary of anything Miami at this point lol.

Another name being mentioned is oline coach Brent Key of Central Florida. He has been with UCF for 8 seasons and has worked his way up the ladder being promoted from several positions since his arrival. He also currently serves as their recruiting coordinator.

Those are the names at this point. Anyone think or know of some others out there on the edge?
