The guy that started that (supposedly) called into Finebaum the other day and said that what had happened originally was that that the school admin was jerking around the students with the voting process. Something to the effect that the school wanted two or three different options voted on, the students didn't like any of them. Then this guy made the comment that it reminded him of the famous line from Star Wars. People just kinda ran with it at that point.

It seems like the students promoting this are essentially just doing it to be an irritant to the school and muddle the process. It's more of a publicity stunt than anything else.

Taking a serious angle, what are the chances that they go with a Patriot-like character, emphasisize rebellion from Britian vice the North? Honestly, that about the only angle I can think of for a school wanting to hang with the Rebel name.
