🏈 Ole Miss or Texas A&M game. Which one would you choose?

Silver, I just returned from Oahu, Hawaii last week. You would be surprised the number of "Roll Tide's" I received during our stay. 5,000+ miles from home and I'm getting "Roll Tide!" BAMA FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST!! IT IS A WAY OF LIFE!!!

Hah hah .... I got you beat brother!!!

Last Xmas in Toronto at a Starbucks wearing my Tide jacket... got a "Roll Tide" from a College kid who proceeded to pull up his hoodie and show me his Bama shirt.

This March in Toronto again buying art supplies from an art supply store... got a "Roll Tide" from the cashier when I was leaving.

And just a month ago while in walking up the street to work in Burlington (which is half the size of Tuscaloosa), and carrying a Bama logo shopping bag slung over my red suitcase, I got a loud and long "ROOOOOLLLL TIDE !!" from a guy in a car who was beside me waiting for the light to change.

Always feels great, doesn't it!!

It always struck me as weird sitting in the car at Albright and 37th, seeing Holy Spirit in front and the Masters in the rearview mirror.

Pictures turned down by the Masters Inn and trip advisor include, but aren't limited to:

flake, I'm sure the people staying there are a different crowd than those on non-football weekends.

There is a saying that in every joke or insult you'll find a degree of truth. We are making fun of the Masters Inn but it has nothing to do with your stay or experience there.

It what we've witnessed and heard about living there.

If you go back a decade or more you'd find us making the same jokes about the Best Western on Skyland. Or, what was it guys, Moon Winx? The hotel on McFarland up in Northport...

Funny you should write that... at last years' Bama/Arky game, the from-out-of-town Bama guys sitting next to me stayed at the Best Western the night before and complained about some Arky fans traipsing through the halls knockin' on doors, calling out.. "How about 'dem Hogs!!" Apparently one of the aforementioned Bama fans responded by opening his hotel door and calling down the hall... "Yeah.. they were delicious!" LOL.

The MI really isn't in a bad location when it comes to getting around Tuscaloosa. Did you rent a car in Birmingham?

I'll tell you this. I know you've got a lot of suggestions over the years on what to do in Tuscaloosa. If I were in your shoes I would almost bet one of my first stops would be across the street at O'Charley's. If you haven't had their potato soup, it's a must. I don't know if there are O'Charley's in Canada. It's not a bad place to grab a couple of drinks either.

I can't think of what the place is now. Years ago it was called Harvey's. It's right down the street from MI in front of Willow Trace apts. (I lived there for a bit my frosh year at Bama) That was a pretty nice place to grab some food and drinks as well. I liked it because it was simply a walk back home.

What was it Harvey's turned in to?

Cheers for that, Terry. I will definitely put O'Charley's potato soup on the menu for one evening, and no we don't have that franchise in Canada. And while Tide gear shopping is a major-major thing for me, I am always interested in dining options where I can meet people and talk to them. Last year I chatted up the girl at the Masters Inn check-in desk on many an occasion. She was so funny and had quite a lot to say.
