How about you guys?

One small example: Anderson gets called for a late hit when he clearly couldn't slow his momentum down. Then Hurts runs out of bounds inside their five. Their defender, in the same situation, hits Hurts a full yard out of bounds, but he didn't make any effort to slow down. No flag, no commentary from Tweedle Dee and Dumb, either

What about that fumble that Hurts had! He was hit at the helmet and as the player was running to the end zone not yet there, a PF was done on one of bama player.. But not flag at either one. Will someone tell me why?

They did call the PF, but said it was a "dead ball" foul, occurring after the TD. Replay showed that it occurred when the runner was at the 5 yard line. Play was not reviewable.

Unbelievable they did not call targeting on the hit on Hurts.

OK, but then Gary said something to this about it being a hit below the chinstrap. But isn't that still targeting hit? Because the way I think it still make your head move back and forward in a quick movement?

Yeah, Gary is completely against Alabama right? Kinda odd that he ranted for like a full ten minutes how the sack/fumble on Hurts should have been targeting and how the refs blew it on the personal foul they claimed happen AFTER the TD... Weird for a guy that hates Alabama.

Exactly! There are actually two different targeting rules. The Ole Mi$$ player was in violation of both.

Targeting and Making Forcible Contact With the Crown of the Helmet
ARTICLE 3. No player shall target and make forcible contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul. (Rule 9-6) (A.R. 9-1-3-I)
Targeting and Making Forcible Contact to Head or Neck Area of a Defenseless Player
ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI)
Note 1: “Targeting” means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to: • Launch—a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area • A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground • Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area • Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet
Note 2: Defenseless player (Rule 2-27-14): • A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass. • A receiver attempting to catch a forward pass or in position to receive a backward pass, or one who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier. • A kicker in the act of or just after kicking a ball, or during the kick or the return. • A kick returner attempting to catch or recover a kick, or one who has completed a catch or recovery and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier.. • A player on the ground. • A player obviously out of the play. • A player who receives a blind-side block. • A ball carrier already in the grasp of an opponent and whose forward progress has been stopped. • A quarterback any time after a change of possession FR-88 rule 9 / Conduct of Players and Others Subject to the Rules • A ball carrier who has obviously given himself up and is sliding feet-first.

OK! Thanks for looking this up @252BAMA. Now we all saw Hurts get the hit, so shouldn't he came out of the game for at least one play? Had him check for a concussion? He did hit the ground hard? I don't want to see him going on IR because he later starter getting headache, burred sign either.

Also those refs. on that field yesterday, should had some type punishment because of missing both of those hits. That guy that watch the two hit that sit his big butt in B'Ham he two should have some type of punishment. JUST SAYING!! Sorry it just get on my last one, because of this.

I'm sure the medical team talked to him but if he was showing no signs of concussion there would be no reason to hold him out.

Yeah missing those kind of calls is harmful to ALL players. THAT is the biggest thing the SEC office should be concerned about.

I also understand that the refs couldn't possibly KNOW that the clip occurred before the ole piss DL crossed the line for the TD, but they SHOULD have recognized that it was highlyh POSSIBLE. That's what I don't get about what's reviewable and what's not. For instance, interference isn't reviewable because it is an opinion, but why wouldn't that TD be reviewable? Don't we want to get things right???!!!

And DO NOT tell me that there was only one holding cal against the ole piss OL all game against our guys! Yeah, right!!!
