I can't figure why the coaches constantly vote Oklahoma #1. They have proved over the last few years they can't win agasint stiff defensive competion let alone the SEC yet the coaches always vote for them. Is it because as a whole the rest of the NCAA are tired of SEC dominance. Coaches poll is to personal and should be taken out of the BCS equation.

What?? you SEC folks not getting enough love from CBS, ESPiN, the AP, or the BCS polls?? LOL And I thought OU only had a bunch of whiny fans. All Bama has to do is win and their in. You guys have nothing to worry about. Even with a loss.

It is pretty simple to me, Oklahoma looked like the best team in the country preseason & the coaches rarely drop a team w/o a loss especially if it is the #1 team. I have zero problem with their ranking at this point because I think they stand a better chance at beating us than LSU due to their awesome passing game. However, they may very well get at taste of the nasty BCS leap simply b/c their only quality win (IF it happens) looks to be OSU & they have no conference championship. I would support leaping them IF it is another unbeaten conference champion that won their championship game.

I honestly have no problem with OU being # 1. They started the seaosn # 1 and should stay there until they lose or if they perform poorly in games they should easily win.

And be careful, the Sooner eyes are already trolling...

I have no problem at all with the rankings right now. I totally agree lsu and Alabama have looked a tad more dominant than OU against their opponents. OU has major problems with offense inside the 10-15 yard line, and sometimes the defense has brain farts that can last a whole half. If they don't shore that up, OU will not go undefeated.

Yeah, while I agree with everyone here that I could not care any less what we're ranked right now, as long as it's 1 or 2 on December 5, I do wonder the same thing whoever started this thread is-- why wouldn't they put LSU up there by now? Who has done more than LSU has at this point? I don't think it's anything like "they know something we don't" but why are they so giddy for a one dimensional team in OU over two balanced, good defensive SEC teams??

Oh, and Jeronimo, I know you've been here for a little while now, but I'm looking forward to having you here for (hopefully) the next few months!!

the past decade trends would indicate that OU would most likely lose at Kansas St this year. It seems like no matter how good Baylor gets, OU always finds a way to destroy them in Waco. Ok St is the same way. OU just finds ways to beat Ok St no matter how good they are. I really thought OU would lose to Ok St last year in Stillwater, but didn't happen. OU seems to get most teams' best efforts and loudest road crowds.

Aside from trends, just based my feeling this year, I am most worried about at Kansas St because they seem to be playing very good football again under Bill Snyder. I almost worry more about Baylor in Waco more than Ok St in Stillwater simply because OU seems to get up for Ok St. I can see a Kansas-like performance in Waco and Baylor can definitely put up points a lot faster than Kansas. Not too worried about home games, however if OU plays lackluster like they did against Missouri, aTm could possibly end the huge home win streak OU has. 2 losses in Norman since Stoops arrived in 1999. Ok St in 2001 and TCU in 2005.
