šŸˆ Okay, according to Finebaum some of the sportswriters around the league chose not to vote . . .

You can't hold someone "accountable" for their opinion, no matter how off base it is. It's their prerogative to vote how they choose.

In return it's our opinion to say anything we want on their "prerogative vote". Especially when it's a blind bias towards the University, simple as that.

When Derrick Thomas did not win the award after his absolutely monster year I really quit paying any attention to the award.

My goodness, Thomas had something like 27 sacks that one year alone - and untold QB hurries.

He had more sacks that one year than any other player in SEC history - for a CAREER. I dare say you can count on one hand, with a finger or two left over, the number of NCAA players with more than 27 career sacks. A one-year wonder you might say. Well, he had 18 the year prior.

Thomas just destroyed Penn State in a game at Bryant Denny that year. He made the performance Suh had last week look tame in comparison.

And Thomas finished 10th in the Heisman. Yeah, nine players had better years.
Preach on Brother!!!!!!!!

I agree, everyone is entitled to an opinion about someone else's opinion and it's your right to voice it. My point was there is no punishing or holding them accountable for their opinion, even when it's obviously wrong/stupid. Look, the H trophy is a joke and I will be glad when the whole thing is over so we can move on to what really matters, kicking the crap out of TX.

Knoxvile News didnt even vote for Ingram. What a bunch of dipwads. They probably wanted to vote for Eric Berry - the second best safety in the SEC.

I didnt see any former Heisman winners on that list. It is my understanding that they get a vote and I was wondering if that would help Mark, being that a lot of those guys probably know or played with or against his dad.

There were several former players on the list. The notation FMR represents former winners.

Regarding the topic:

To totally disregard Ingram & not even vote for the kid shows pure biased especially w/in the conference. Journalism or journalists are supposed to try to be as objective as possible, in theory. But we know that total :bs: when it comes to most journalists. This just confirms it.

I wonder how Tebow voted.

i was wondering the same thing...does seeing Ingram on the side line after the game doing the gator chomp put a bad taste in tebows mouth? or was that from sucking on myers teet...lol

does he vote for mccoy because he's a qb and gonna play bama... the team that beat them

does he vote for ingram because he's the only one to run all over them?

does he go out on a limb and vote for himself?

Vol perspective on Knoxville News Sentinel vote and Heisman candidate:

:lance:

Yep.

Yards-gained mean more in the SEC, whose status as the No. 1 football conference is not debatable - especially on defense - but I'm not ruled by provinciality. Gerhart has had a head-turning season in the nation's second best conference. As for Ingram, he has been a terrific player on the nation's No. 1 team, but I question whether he's the best running back in the SEC (See Mississippi State's Anthony Dixon) or even on his own team (See Trent Richardson).

Dude just needs to come out and say it, he left Mark off because he wears Crimson. If the Vols were sitting at 13-0 and it was Montario Hardesty who had Mark's numbers, this clown would be screaming to everyone that he deserved the Heisman and anything less would be a travesty that could only eclipse the Payton Manning snub. If he'd just come out and say it, I'd at least have a little respect for him, even though he'd still be wrong... but to hide behind some BS excuse that he can't possibly write without developing an eye twitch... that's just sad.
