🏈 Ok so what are the best case scenarios for the rest of the season?

If Stanford and OK state lose (and maybe Boise), then I think we would be looking at meeting LSU again in the bcs bowl. Stanford still has to get by Oregon and OK state has to still beat OK. So I think that it can happen.

Of course we still have to get by Auburn.

I think we have the sugar bowl wrapped up.

I don't think it's far fetched, but I don't want it to happen. LSU already beat Bama on the field, we know who the better team is. No since in playing it again.

With that said, best case scenarios is Arkansas beating LSU to finish the season and Bama being ranked higher in the BCS, thus going to the SEC championship game. That could springboard a BCSNC birth, but Bama NEEDS Arky to win and Oklahoma State or Stanford to lose.

Oklahoma State still has Oklahoma on the schedule and Stanford is playing Oregon this upcoming week I think.

Still a lot of games to play.

I've heard sports writers talking possibility of a rematch, which would be historic. But my two schillings says we're bound (best practical case scenario) for the Sugar Bowl. And frankly the way we are now, key players banged up and with a field goal kicker who couldn't hit the bottom of a pond with a rock... I wouldn't be too keen on a rematch anyway.

My honest opinion here… yes, it is very possible we could have a rematch in the national title but unlikely. Stanford would have to lose to Oregon next week and then Oklahoma St would have to lose to Oklahoma in the last week of the season. That would hopefully put us ahead of an unbeaten Boise and sit at #2.
Very possible scenario but unlikely. Then again, with all the upsets we've had this season it might actually be likely.

Or assume LSU loses to Ole Miss or Arkansas (they would have to lose to both for us to go to the SECCG, very, very unlikely) and they still go to the SECCG but aren't ranked high enough. That would really put us at LEAST at #2. These are computers, after all.

Or just assume there aren't enough upsets for us to get in the top 2 and we sit in the top 5 (almost a certainty we'll be in the top 5 or 6 tomorrow) and go to the Sugar Bowl or one of the other BCS bowls.

Overall a good season. I don't think we'll lose to Miss St or Auburn so we should be good for the rest of the year. :)

I don't see a rematch happening. If Okie State and Stanford lose, Boise will get their shot. Sadly, an Oregon/LSU rematch is more likely due to conference title. If they beat Stanford and win the PAC-12, Okie State loses, LSU v Oregon--which sucks.

To get to New Orleans, Bama will have to win the SEC which means LSU has to lose twice. Win-out and end up in the Sugar Bowl. That isn't a bad way to end the season.

It's not a bad way to end a season no but it is not what this team set out to do in the spring. It's the way we lost that stings most. Soooo many missed opportunities. The morning after is always rough. I hear they make a pill for this lol

Oh come on. Remember our kicker is just a kid. Not to mention he was asked to kick 3 times out of his range in one of the biggest games. His last miss should have never been that far away.

I usually agree not to pile on the players who are playing with a scholarship as their wage. The coaches didn't exactly put him in a position to succeed. They should not provide an opportunity for him to fail. Personally, I would make sure he didn't fail from here on out for the rest of his career. It's not fair to him. He's not a kid, though. What is he, a junior? Sophomore?

For the record, Cade Foster didn't lose this game. Yeah, he missed the kicks. But he's been beyond inconsistent all season. Everyone in the stadium knew he wasn't going to hit those kicks.

This game is on coaches. No other way to spin it.

10000000000% Correct. Everyone knew that was asking too much from him, he just cant kick from that distance. Punting the ball and putting their backs against the wall just seemed to be the more logical play.....but im not the coach.
