šŸˆ OK so....Sports radio just said Bo Scarbough.....

People need to give the guy a break. There is no guarantee that he will even be the starter. I hope he wins the starting job and has a fantastic season, but people are acting insane. When you treat young, inexperienced players like this before they have done anything, you are setting them up to fail before they even get started, and it makes it even more difficult to get back up if they do stumble.

What happens if Bo comes out against USC and fumbles twice? It doesn't matter how BEASTLY he looks if he can't hold onto the football, CNS is unlikely to let him off the sideline if that's the case. And if that happens, then what? You have a young guy with a fragile psyche who in a matter of 1 day has gone from the best running back to lace up a pair of cleats to one who can't get out of his own head, and God forbid, could possibly go the Jeremy Johnson route and completely implode. I hate to bring up the barn, but that is the most recent example of exactly what I am talking about.

If you think an internet thread about his future is going to impact whether or not he fumbles twice against USC, then you my friend need a break...

Reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits Uncle Rico.

The point was, you build kid up to be a Heisman Trophy winner before he's had a meaningful carry and it makes it much tougher to reach his full potential. Unreasonable expectations have been the downfall of many great men.

Me building him up to do or be anything has nothing do with with whether or not he reaches his full potential. Maybe I'm shorting myself of the great influence I have over Alabama football, but I'm content knowing this. You should be too, Napoleon.

When Eddie Lacy was sent in to run out the clock against Michigan State in the Cap One Bowl he went 12 yards and 63 yards for TDs on his first two carries. Bo didn't do quite as well against them in the Cotton Bowl, but the guys he ran over probably wish that he had.

Yeah.....Like naming Lebron James...King James in high school. He was a total flop. LOL

You expect Bo Scarbrough to be as dominant this year as Lebron James was for his team in his first year?

It's not the same. A guy who goes pro out of high school, who was pretty dominant in his first year in the pros, versus a guy who never had a meaningful touch his first year in college.

I'm not saying the pressure will keep him from being great. I'm saying what happens if he doesn't perform so well right out of the gate? The pressure will be magnified exponentially and it will be way that much harder to develop because of it.

I don't expect that people will calm the fuck down. I'm just saying it's ridiculous to act this way about someone who has never HAD to perform, and especially someone with the injury record that Bo has. Look I would be as happy as anybody for him to beat Henry's records this year. I just don't think it's fair for him to have to carry that burden before he has it all figured out.

Good problem to have, we just RELOAD. Ingram > Richardson > Lacy > Yeldon > Henry > .... > .... > ....

Those who've went from backup to starter have each handled the pressure very well at Alabama. No reason to doubt the trend won't continue.
