I ran a 4.85 at UA for Coach Moore as a 6’2” 200 QB. He acted disappointed but I told him I ran faster when being chased by one of them big summbitches in defense!

I played Safety and QB in HS at 180. I would’ve loved to have had a big dude like you to throw it to. Sadly, my coach would’ve stuck your arse at OT.

My 3 favorite plays were the TE Pop-pass, the Seam (scored a few TDs on the seam) and the Right-I Wide-9 TE reverse. Hell, coach even lined me up at FB for situational short-yardage Belly plays. I was always able to carry a pile.

@Sgt. Lincoln Osiris when I came home at Christmas my freshman year, I had gained 20-25 pounds of muscle. My HS coach took one look at me and said “Damn son! I wish you had been this big in HS!” I responded, “ not me or you would’ve stuck my ass on the OL!” All he could do was laugh and agree. He had moved me from TE/DE because I could throw the ball further and with better accuracy than any kid we had on the team. We were split back beer and I fought him tooth and nail. He convinced me we were going pro set I and shotgun spread concepts with no QB runs. My argument had been that I was too slow and that I couldn’t be the runner our current QB was. Got in a game and I begged for a sneak and he said, “remember, you’re too slow!”

Packers first pick is at #12. With Irv being projected by many for the 1st round, does Green Bay pull the trigger on him at 12 if he works out well?

With his deceptive speed for his size and improvement as a blocker last year (making him a well-rounded 3-down TE), I think it's highly possible.

I’ll admit in a heartbeat that I was slow! Never claimed otherwise! Endurance stuff though, I could go all day! I was a true “pro-style” QB coming out of HS. Crazy thing was, with the limited fast twitch fibers I had, I could jump out of the gym! I had a 38” vertical and was a quick jumper too. Reggie Herring at the Barn recruited me to play OLB. I literally laughed in his face.

I was slow as hell. Luckily as a strong safety I let my hitting do my talking and speed wasn't as necessary as corner which is where I started.
