| BSB/SB Offense Powers Baseball to 18-5 Series-Clinching Win over No. 5 Arkansas

Is anyone done following this dump of a program we have right now? Alabama baseball is excruciatingly painful to follow. Never thought I'd see the day that the women's basketball program is more competitive.

Arkansas also scored every bit of their runs with two outs. Same story as the LSU game. If you're a Brad Bohannon supporter, just tell me what I'm missing.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball used a six-run fifth to clinch an 8-6 win over fifth-ranked Arkansas on Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The victory evens the series up at one game apiece and moves the Crimson Tide to 28-25 overall and 11-17 in Southeastern Conference play.

The six-run fifth came with the Tide trailing 4-1, as Arkansas was able to post single tallies in the second and fourth to go with a two-spot in the fifth. Alabama's first run came in fourth before the six in the fifth to give the Crimson Tide a 7-4 advantage after five full. The Tide added one more in the sixth on a solo home run from Andrew Pinckney with the Hogs battling for two in the seventh for the eventual 8-6 final.

All nine Crimson Tide starters reached base on Friday with seven of the nine recording at least one hit, including four two-hit efforts from William Hamiter, Drew Williamson, Dominic Tamez and Owen Diodati. Diodati matched Pinckney for the team-high mark for RBI with two while Williamson tied Pinckney for the team lead in runs at two apiece.

Jacob McNairy (6-2) picked up his team-leading sixth win of the season thanks to a solid start on 'Senior Night'. The right-hander allowed four runs on six hits and three walks with a career-high tying seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work. McNairy turned the ball over to his bullpen with Brock Guffey and Dylan Ray combining to keep the Hogs scoreless over the final 2.1 frames. Ray picked up his sixth save of the season thanks to a game-ending strikeout.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon

"This was a pretty complete effort for us. Jacob McNairy gave us a great start and all the guys – (Ben) Hess, (Brock) Guffey and (Dylan Ray) – were great out of the bullpen. It was good to see us put up a six-spot; we haven't done that much this year. We had seven of the nine starters get a hit and multiple guys with two-hit games. It was a really good effort tonight, and I'm happy for our kids. Obviously, this clinches Hoover. I know that's not the ultimate goal for our team, but it is an awesome event. I can't wait to get over there next week, but before that, hopefully we can win a series over a really good team to take some momentum with us to the Tournament."

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's offensive explosion led the Crimson Tide to an 18-5 win over fifth-ranked Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The victory in the regular-season finale clinched the series for the Tide and moved UA to 29-25 overall and 12-17 in Southeastern Conference play.

Alabama used 11 hits and a season-best 11 walks to post a season-high tying 18 runs on Saturday. The Tide scored six apiece in the second and fourth innings while adding one in third and five in the fifth. Arkansas got the early lead with two in the first and added one in the fourth to go with another pair in the sixth but could get no closer for the 18-5 final.

The Tide offense stayed patient in game three, drawing 11 walks by day's end. Owen Diodati contributed four of those free passes with Jim Jarvis and Drew Williamson each drawing a pair of walks themselves. The duo of Jarvis and Williamson was joined by Dominic Tamez for the team lead in runs scored with three apiece. Bryce Eblin and William Hamiter led UA in RBI, combining for nine total. Eblin recorded a team-best five RBI as part of a 1-for-4 showing that included a grand slam and two runs scored, while Hamiter added four RBI and finished 2-for-4 with a home run and one run.

Antoine Jean (4-1) picked up the win. The junior tossed 3.0 relief frames, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts for the Crimson Tide. Arkansas starter Jaxon Wiggins (6-3) suffered the loss, working 1.1 innings and allowing five runs on two hits and two walks to go with a pair of punchouts.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon

"This was a great day at the park for us. I'm really proud of our kids. After yesterday, it would have been really easy to come out flat and go through the motions, but we played really well. Grayson (Hitt) gave us a good start, all the guys out of the bullpen were sharp and, obviously, we got a ton of production up and down the lineup. To win a series against a top-10 team was big for us. We talked yesterday about trying to build momentum for Hoover, which we need, and that's what we did today."
