🏈 Odds to Make NC

So we have 3 unbeatens left. as for their chances: ND has a weak schedule so I don't see them in the NC happening .. Kansas State still has Texas but I see that being a win. Oregon is Oregon.

I can't see Bama dropping out of the top 10 this week but games against WCU and AU won't help our cause for moving on up.

Thoughts?

-Notre Dame is the worst team of the 3, easily. Their schedule has been favorable, but USC should beat them (and game is in SoCal)... then again, OU should have beat them...

-Kansas St will have a showdown with Texas, but I use the term showdown very loosely. I have little faith in Texas winning... they just seem like they don't gave a damn anymore. Sucks that there is no Big 12 championship game, but it's a conference filled with paper tigers anyway, so what difference does it make?

-Oregon is the best of the 3 teams IMO, but has the toughest schedule left (Stanford, Oregon St., and USC or UCLA)... that said, they should win all 3. They are dealing with some injuries, and Stanford can be physical. Oregon St. is waaaaayyyyy overrated (think MSU of the Pac-12), but it is a rivalry game... the interesting matchup to me would be if/when they played USC again. They should beat them, but if they are still banged up, especially in the secondary, it could be a game where whoever has the ball last, wins.

-As for where Alabama ends up after the loss to A&M... The Tide will fall no lower than 5th, and probably won't even slide past UGA at 4. The computers and even the humans, are not going to penalize us that much... A&M has earned respect. The next 2 games won't help us any, but a game against UGA could be huge if a couple of dominoes fall late like they did last year.

-My dream scenario? Kansas State loses to Texas and Oregon loses to Stanford (or USC). Notre Dame keeps on winning, and the Tide and Bulldogs play for a spot against the Irish in Miami...

Sugar Bowl vs Notre Dame maybe? Finish the season 13-1, beat Tennessee(for the 6th straight year), beat LSU, dismantle Auburn, win the SECCG, and ruin Notre Dames undefeated season...I would say that would be a good year..

World keeps turning, we blew our chances IMO, gotta move on.

If we assume that the three unbeatens remain that way, why would the Fiesta not choose the third (ND) considering they have first choice?

God, I can't believe we are having to debate this again after last year!!!!!!

I know it is possible but we I hate depending on other teams to lose to help us out. :shake:

I guess the bright side is we only need two teams to lose.

I just don't see it happening but there is always a chance. KS is on a roll and plays Texas at home. Texas will certainly be upset-minded but KS is the superior team by far. Oregon has a shot to lose to Stanford or even Oregon State. USC has been the only team to really give them trouble, so we will see. Just like Alabama's weaknesses were made visible in the past 2 weeks, someone has got to figure out the Ducks offense. And ND .. again, the weakness of schedule is not going to help them. If all we have left are 2 unbeatens in ND and KS/Oregon, I am not so sure ND would make it in. But I also don't see ND going unbeaten.

In the end I think we will end up with 1 unbeaten sitting atop the rankings, and I think it will be Kansas State. I think the Oregon train has to slow down at some point: the Bama train certainly did. If Oregon AND ND lose, I think Alabama has a fair shot, especially with an SEC championship win (assuming we win).

The SEC and PAC both have championship games which I think will really play in their favor. Assuming Bama goes to SEC championship and beats Georgia, and Oregon wins theirs, I think that gives them a lot of credit and BCS points vs. KSU with no championship game. Maybe I am biased but I think the SEC deserves a representative this season :) The rest of the college football world is screaming for the SEC's head though ..
