Saban said several minutes ago...

"Mark (Ingram) is doing extremely well, didn't have a lot of swelling, which is a good sign... That has a lot to do with how quickly you can come back... Nobody knows how quickly you can come back. He's out this week. We will take it week to week. Sometimes these guys get over these things very quickly when it's cartilage type stuff. Whatever decision we make will be with his best interest in mind for his future."

On Dareus situation, he said it was very hopeful that a ruling would come from the NCAA before Saturday's game.

I watched CS news conference and I was surprised when he said that Dareus may play even if they have not heard from the NCAA. I may have misunderstood CS but that is the way I understood his comment.

Good to hear Ingram's surgery went well. Saban is right, cartillage repairs can be tricky. If swelling can remain minimal the only true issue is the level of discomfort, depending upon how the tear was repaired. I'm sure since Dr. Andrews did the surgery he is fine in that regard. Knees are tricky and 90% of situations post-up have some form of flair up before it is said and done. If they handle his football piece conservatively and get aggressive with the PT quickly he could be back easily by the Arkansas game. There is no way he makes it back for the Penn State game, at least not in my experience, and they wouldn't risk him against Duke. Successful surgery or not his knee won't feel right for quite some time, anyone who has had knee surgery can speak to that. They did the right thing by having it fixed now

Coach was being a bit of a smartass because he didn't like the question. If Dareus isn't cleared by the NCAA before the game, he won't be playing... but a decision from them is likely to be handed down by Friday late afternoon.
