Was it me, or did it seem like we didn't call any misdisrection plays to slow down the Auburn rush? I was a little bumfuzzled by that yesterday. What do ya'll think?

Misdirection plays, in the usual sense, are cut-backs against lateral pursuit. If one includes "up the field" pursuit, then the screens that we through would be misdirection plays.

Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. A distinct lack of counter plays AND the fact that MI seemed to be running right at the defenders - he just seemed out of it the whole game. In fact, I was wondering if he was hurt early.

About the misdirection, we did have a short week and I wonder if the coaching staff in gameplanning was looking a little bit past Auburn to the SECCG.

Our offense needs a lot of help. I wish we had another Homer Smith as OC.

To my knowledge its been good enough this season.

As for Homer Smith, you realize that Coach Smith's era was closer to the late 70s Wishbone than to today. The game has change greatly since his time on the Capstone and I know of no reason to think that he would be the end-all-and-be-all.
