"First of all, I'll contain my opening statement to our fans that attended the game tonight," Alabama head coach Avery Johnson said. "There have been a lot of fans who have been Alabama basketball fans long before I got here. I see a lot of those folks in the grocery stores and restaurants all around the city. They tell me their stories about the good old days at Alabama in terms of basketball. I would like to thank them for coming tonight. I also really want to thank our student section. That student section was packed tonight. I talked to a couple fraternity houses yesterday and I encouraged them to bring out their friends and they played their part.

"I am overall proud of our team, much better effort in the second half. We made some shots. Obviously we left a lot of points on the board at the free throw line, but they are all correctable. Overall, I'm proud of our guys."?

I watched it and liked what I saw. I saw mistakes that will go away as the season progresses and I'm sure CAJ saw them. There were hustle mistakes and quick shots and LAWD at the missed FTs!!! These are all correctable.

I enjoyed getting to watch our new team for the first time. Like others have said, we looked a little helter skelter at times, but I also understand it's our second game, first game for our freshman point guard, and we're still trying to gel as a team against different competition than our own team. Good lord have mercy, we need to go ahead and figure out the free throw problem, because 37% will lose us many games, especially tight ones in the SEC. If they want to make the tournament they will need to nip that one quickly. Other than that, we have talent, we have some speed, and our big guys are looking A LOT better than they did one and two years ago. Coach Johnson is doing a hell of a job and I can't wait for us to get into December when we play Arizona and other teams that will force us to challenge ourselves.

Between Ingram, Johnson, and Jones...these three have done pretty well this season.

It's Hall shooting .333 and Sexton at a little over .415 that's killing the average. Hall shot right at .600 last season so I expect he'll come around...as will a few of the other guys.

Excited for basketball people ... I love the freshman and unselfishness and chemistry they have at just game 2 ..

The multiple passes for the throw down ... drives to the basket and the dishes for the three ball .. if we can get a low post presence....

Man , we could not only make the tournament but do som real damage ....

I am BUCKLED UP and ready to see what coach Avery has in store .
