I wonder if NIL money will be spent to keep some of those choice 3rd year kids that rank 3rd round and below from leaving? NIL money if they stay another year ? That would be a very good and useful use of the NIL money.

It absolutely will. Already happening at some places.

They're retaining kids with NIL deals for all roster players, basically a salary for them. May not be as good, but it makes sure everyone gets some piece of the pie while they work out their own NIL deals.

Another example of this may end up being Nix at Oregon... he is strongly considering returning for his extra year (and some more NIL money) and trying to improve his draft grade with another season.
