Nick Saban's reaction to his first day off since last season's end was priceless

Nick Saban loves the grind. You don’t produce the success he has enjoyed throughout his notable career without enjoying the work involved in a climb toward greatness.

However, everyone needs a breather. It would be understandable if Saban had an exotic vacation planned after National Signing Day to celebrate his fifth national title as the Crimson Tide’s coach and his sixth overall. But what did he do recently when confronted with his first true day off since the end of the 2017 campaign?

Wonder what’s next by 8 a.m., of course.

Check out what Saban said to his wife, Terry, as relayed by ESPN’s Chris Low:

So amazing, right?

There’s no word on what Saban chose to do to pass the time, but we hope he tried to fine-tune his fantastic dance moves. We can dream.

Anyway, there’s plenty to keep the coach busy throughout the coming spring and fall. Alabama’s quarterback situation will be closely watched as Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa present the Crimson Tide with two strong options at the position. In an ESPN story published Friday, Saban told Low that it’s possible roles will be found for both players this year.

Here’s hoping Saban enjoys a little down time between now and the fall, if he can bring himself to do so.

You know Petrino will have a few plays n the hip pocket that he believes will be successful against our base ā€œDā€ .

He will have some success against us like he always did when at Ar-Kansas . He is a great offensive mind ..

And a creep .

First of all, the possibility of Bama being in regular is ... ? Slim, to none.

Secondly, "against us like he always did when at Ar-Kansas?" {sic} Err, what?
'08 it was 49-14. '11 was close to that...beat them by what, over three scores? '09 was another ass kicking by Bama. You can bring in one of four seasons here if you'd like, '10 at Arkansas, when the Tide won by four.

Success "like he always has" ends up being a beat down.

That said...good matchup for a young secondary in nickel and dime.

You know I’m calling the nickel our base , because we play it most often vs more of the vertical pass teams . so I don’t know , I think we would play the nickel quit often . I’m not suggesting BAMA line up in the 3-4 vs Louisville if that’s what your thinking.

And I never said the games were close , just that he had success . Until our Defence would kicked in and get a couple of hits on the QB and maybe cause a turn over or two . By then it was just a meet me at the QB game .
