🏈 Nick Saban sends letter to high school after coach passes away

The Tuscumbia, Ala. community was rocked earlier in the week by the death of Deshler High School head football coach Jake Linville. In a letter to Deshler athletic director Patrick Smith, Alabama coach Nick Saban sent his condolences and encouragement to the Tigers' football team and football staff.

Very sad event. New head coach for the team, filling some big shoes. Just won their 7th consecutive game to clench the district after losing week one. Something bad must have been troubling him. Really a tough blow for the community. Nice personal act by our coach. He landed Belue from Deshler, before he took the Juco route.

Many people up that way have said it was an accidental discharge of the firearm and not done intentional. No one knows for sure. Class act by CNS once again.

Jake was a super kid in high school and I know the family. Michael Statom was named interim coach earlier this week. He is also a former Collinwood player and head coach. Thoughts and prayers to Mr. and Mrs. Linville. Nice touch by CNS.

From what I gathered on Twitter last night, Deshler was blasting Rogers. Community and kids pulling together to win another one for their fallen coach.

Class act by Coach Saban. I have a lot of friends that went to Deshler. Very very good people as are most from the area. They won't be down for long.
