🏈 Nick Saban practice updates on Western Carolina

-- Raekwon Davis, DJ Dale, Phidarian Mathis and Henry Ruggs are all “very questionable” for the game.
-- Saban FaceTimed with Tua Tagovailoa on Wednesday and he was in “good spirits.” Saban said Tagovailoa had his “nose done” and hadn’t shaved, and joked, “I’d like to say [he] looked good, but ... ”
-- Saban said the defense will be challenged by Western Carolina’s option-based offense. New players will get opportunities because of injuries, which Saban said, “hopefully will help create depth down the road.”

-- Saban reiterated that the seniors have won 64 games over a five-year period and hoped fans will appreciate that by showing up to the game Saturday, which is senior day.

- Asked about Josh McMillon, Saban said he is doing well in his recovery from an ACL injury, as well as other injured players. Saban said LaBryan Ray has “come a long way in his rehab.” Saban said McMillon would “make a great decision by coming back [next season] and we would love to have him.”

- Asked about whether offensive production will be the future, Saban said he says the “game has changed” and rules have benefitted the offense. Offensive linemen being able to go 3.5 yards downfield has boosted the RPO game and “created a different dynamic.” He added that approaches to personnel has changed in that there are more skilled offensive players on the field. “I think there are more players being developed as offensive players because the style of play has changed,” Saban said. The “big, slow” guys who were useful in run-based schemes of the past are less able to play now.
