šŸˆ Nick Saban is a 6 million dollar man

If Bama wins the bowl game, 600,000 dollars per win. I think the money that the coaches are making is obscene. No man is worth that much money annually. I'm not blaming it on the university or students, but rather I blame it on our culture that a man that coaches a "GAME", just a game with no consequences other than pleasure, makes that much money. I like to watch though, so I am part of that culture. No man is worth that kind of money though.

A doctor making 200,000 dollars per year saving lives would have to work 30 years to make the money Saban makes in one.

The amount of money Nick Saban generates disagrees.

You make a good point, but you've got to admit this amount of money(see below) is over the top. While Saban has done a nice job rebuilding and recruiting, this year signals he may not be that great. He certainly lost to a couple of less talented teams this season. He should be catching a lot of heat for this, especially considering the amount of money and support he receives. The team looked very poorly coached in the last 3 quarters of the Auburn game and in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. I'm not convinced that any better than average coach can't excel at Bama. A below average coach can certainly obtain a 10 win season at Bama (see Dubose). Bama provides the most support and some of the best facilities of any program in the nation.

I can only hope the figures are inflated and reflect incentives if he goes unbeaten, wins the conference and national championships.

According to salaries published by Forbes magazine, Saban’s compensation ranks him behind only three National Football League coaches: Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots ($7.5 million), Mike Shanahan of the Washington Redskins ($7 million) and Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks ($7 million). In fact, only those three NFL coaches and National Basketball Association coaches Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers ($10.3 million) and Larry Brown of the Charlotte Bobcats ($7 million) have higher salaries than Saban’s 2010 income among U.S. coaches.

I can only hope Alabama wins the conference and national championships next year so you'll commit suicide. I'm not sure how you made it through last season, but I'm certain another BCS trophy will put you over the edge.

Bama's Annual Merchandise Sales the Year before CNS, $33Million....CNS Becomes Bama's New Head Coach....1st year Merchandise Sales increased to 69Million....2nd year almost 110 Million Annually! Now averaging a little over $110 Million per year just in sales of Bama Merchandise....Not to Mention, CNS Donates about 1/3 of his annual salary back to The University of Alabama Crimson Tide! There are maybe 2 or 3 coaches in the country that could come into Alabama and Win on a level close to CNS, Do I really need to remind you Of a little over a year ago when Florida and Tebow and the rest of the country just knew Tebow was going to him another NC?! THERE'S NO OTHER COACH IN THE COUNTRY THAT COULD HAVE.STOPPED TEBOW! By the way, take a look at Cam Newtons stats against Bama! The truth is that 90% of our players were still living on last years NC and they didn't have that Determination and Desire this year! CNS didn't blow the 3 Opportunities to put Tue nail in auburn coffin!
Roll Tide Roll!

The NCAA should institute a cap on ALL salaries. If a couple mill isn't enough to coach then so be it. They have an opening at Krystal down the road from where I live. Try making a living on that wage. Where does it stop?

If college football is a business, pay all of your employees an equitable wage, not just room and board and a Heisman Trophy. I hate to break it to you, but Saban didn't win a national championship. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 85 guys who attend school in Tuscaloosa did. Tebow would have plowed over Saban's little scrawny ass.

Boom

Oh, Argo, people go to jail for comments like you made. That's over the top.

Wanna take it a step further, get the figures on how much money has incensed in donations from alumni (and I'm not just talking about the football side of things and TidePride and such)...

I'll say say this, Dr. Witt was thrilled to get Saban, and has no issues with his salary. Saban isn't just bringing money into our athletic department, he's bringing it into our University...

You just cannot get by the AU loss can you...

Saban is the best head coach in college football, nobody is perfect, but if we want the best we keep him.

You got to be MFin crazy dude. How do you think we got those 85 players on scholarship that won the NC? Did it happen playing rock, paper, scissors? Besides CNS has coached some really awesome games, more than the ones that are questionable, at best.

BTW, if you had any real concepts of business, paying everybody the same wages doesn't work. You reward the talent; fire, layoff, or pay less the ones that suck.

There is a saying in business--> talent follows money.
