NFL plans to study making pass interference reviewable

You can't get through an NFL game now without sitting through a flag-a-thon. Why is a pass interference review any less deadly, costly, punitive than an illegal holding, clipping, or pick call? A miss is a miss and at the tail end of any game can cost you. Just leave it alone.

Band-Aids. Got your Band-Aids here.

Look, that no-call last night was one of the worst I have ever seen and absolutely cost New Orleans the game. Receiver is obviously moving towards a catchable ball and the defender levels him before it gets there. It was a good defensive play to be honest (maybe saved a larger gain or TD) but it deserved the flag. But the NFL is looking at another Band-Aid that means more bad calls that get overturned on review or missed calls that get caught on review, longer games, and worse officiating.

Making pass interference reviewable doesn't fix the problem. That play was not deemed pass interference and therefore it wouldn't be reviewable. You can probably find a penalty on every play. Reviewing a non-call opens up a Pandora's box to find a penalty, any penalty, on every plan.

How many ref's eyes were watching that and did not throw a flag? Their asses need to be flagged right out of the league. Games go one way or the other because of bad calls or no calls. IS NFL RIGGED? Wasn't NBA officials caught rigging games some time ago? I believe ALL team sports need evaluation in the way they are officiated. IMO, too much money involved not to be some pre decided outcomes.

They will have folks looking at plays and regardless whether a flag was thrown by the field crew if the call is wrong then it will be reversed by a crew say in NY. Those folks in the HDQ office will on the clock for sure. Then again all it will take is one great official for each game each week.

Here's just a thought but we may be missing a bigger issue than just the no call. As we all know, pro football is a big, big, big, business. After doing a little checking LA is the 2nd largest TV market in the country. New Orleans is 50th. Just a thought!!

They need to have a review official (currently the ref on the field reviews the play on a video monitor they bring out to him). That review official needs to be able to stop play and look at the play again.

Actually....that wsnt the only missed call...but the lasting impression....
Watch it...it happens fast.....ok....
Should have been called...Helmet to helmet could have been signaled down....and maybe called.... it was awful miss...period.....
Nfl doesnt need to over react .... suspend officials.... but it happens ...
Buttttt New Orleans....runs ball 3 times instead of pass 2 of 3 downs...kicks FG..
Theres halfminute left in game for LA to do something....just saying

If the Commish wanted to he could replay the game. But then he would be without a job the next year! Bad called in both game. Funny thing is that the two team winning Sunday got the better end of the deal!

This "commish could replay the game if he wanted" thing is getting spread around but its just not true. No. 1, the rule that is being cited also says (and these click bait reporters are leaving this part out) that a full investigation must be done by the commissioner, including the ability for hearings and appeals by those involved, before an action that drastic can be taken. There is no chance of that happening between now and the Super Bowl (unless they postpone the Super Bowl, which is DEFINITELY not happening). No. 2, the NFL rule book also says that any type of human error or judgement call by an official cannot simply be overturned after the fact by the commissioner. This is also something those clickbait sites aren't talking about.
